The goal where Seattle has a 3 on 4 and three of our players go to the puck carrier was a terrible defensive play. Not sure if I blame Drai or Foegle on it. Probably Drai.

Bouchard did another weak defence…in many games, he showed as a weak one….
Nurse could learn something from Vinny. Nurse doesn’t even hit anymore since his shoulder and hip injuries. He wraps guys up and forces them behind the net. All to often getting burned and his guy dishes to a trailing forward for a shot on net.
Somehow Bouchard and Kulak need to learn how to play DEFENSE fast!….They are our achilles heel heading towards the playoffs….or either that, the coach has to find a way to shelter them….The Eberle goal?…Why is Bouchard soooo afraid to play the body,?? Nevermind the puck he shouldve hit Eberle on the chest and knock him over like a defensemen should!? Eberle is not even that big!..Instead he just turns away from Eberle and he watches Eberle walk in..smh… He cant do that in the playoffs..☹

3 up on Seattle, which more or less nullifies their game in hand. Wicked. LA and Vegas lost their most recent game and only 4 points ahead. A massive, massive win! Oilers have so many Pacific games ahead, they are in complete control of where they want to finish in the division.

Great podcast. Definitely a major problem w Bouchard – lets hope they can polish it up so another team will take him. Great that he has positives – but at nhL level, frequent & repetitive mistakes are a serious problem. A team can't have such a serious weak link almost every single game – most games at this level are decided by 1-2 mistakes (sorry to say but truth hurts).

Great win & great observation by Bruce re video study – that explains a lot…. the repeating of position mistakes & careless errors by the team (most observers see this) has indicated for years that coaches are not really teaching too much – and the 2min max time (willing to spend by players & coaches on learning/fixing errors) is good for popularity but does explain a bit

With the Eberle goal, the puck went off Bouchard's skate, and he thought the puck was in front of him. It was a bit of a fluke bounce. I absolutely wouldn't be as hard on him as you two were here.
This is all rlly similar to last season. A wretched start strong finish.
