Crazy for such a physical and chippy team like the Islanders to only commit one infraction against the Leafs all game! Very impressive!!

Anyway, at least the Lightning lost to the Habs (yes, we’re not the only cup contender to lose to bottom feeders), so this loss is a wash for home ice advantage.

  2. Okay Keefe you’ve had your fun, enough of the line juggling!! Put the best lines together, and keep it as that! No more fun and games, playoffs are coming up…

  3. senile-animal

That was a tough watch, on the the next one. All I can say is yikes.. maybe let Sammy take some time and heal and become a dad

    At least tampa lost?

  4. SpicyP43905

Thank god it’s finally over, the boys better go on a 3 game win streak, they owe it to us after this

  5. djlista

Stay off the Facebook leaf groups tonight.

  6. chai_bronz

Leafs need to go back to playing like they did when Capn Mo was out with injury.

  7. Volderon90

There’s literally nothing to say that hasn’t been said before. We’ve seen this exact type of loss and play before. Playoffs determine the outcome of the roster and the management team

  8. IntellectualFella

I hated every second of that

  9. 3X-Leveraged

Felt like after Gus got robbed the game completely flipped

  10. FansTurnOnYou

Not that this game meant anything but wow, that was an embarrassing performance. Props to the Isles for being opportunistic I guess because we manufactured most of their goals.

  11. toedragrelease

Jesus Christ, what even is this team anymore?

  12. Showtime98

Terrible game lol. Feel like Murray should have got the game tonight, let Sammy be with his wife.

I’m not worried about this one game – it was a stinker but every team has them. Tampa lost so realistically, it makes 0 impact other than a lost opportunity to cushion home ice advantage.

I am more concerned this team has been playing its worst stretch of hockey since the deadline since the very first few weeks of the year, heading into playoffs. They have rode some serious shooting % / save % luck to their positive record since the deadline, but their 5 on 5 play and underlyings are awful. In particular seems they are really struggling to generate offense and relying on quick strike / the PP.

One can only hope they turn it back on and this is just a slump, and the return of an ROR jump starts this team.

I dont get why he started a goalie whose clearly injured (and expecting a child), scratches his most physical dman against a very physical team and then splitting up the big guns against a team who stacks players at the blueline. Talk about overcoaching at its finest

  15. Shooternow

They out hit us by a huge margin, they blocked waaaay more shot than we did. They gave way less pucks away than we did. It was one of our worst performances. Flush it and move on to the next.

  16. IntellectualFella

Martin and Acciari respect to both. Acciari with a head injury recently, but Martin wanting to own up to “the code” of Acciari hurting Nelson, and having to answer for it. Martin knew this and clearly didn’t try in that fight, just wanted it to be squashed then and there.

The line juggling needs to stop. It isn’t even good line juggling. We need some actual stability and chemistry building so we can get into playoff mod.

The 7 D lineups need to stop too. The D pairs need to be somewhat consistent so they can learn to play with each other.

Matthews can’t be playing with two at best middle-six wingers. Nylander can’t be playing with 2 fourth line players. We need to get two lines going offensively.

  18. This type of half assed effort has been going on for too long without anything addressed. Do they want to win or not? Because I’m almost back to « not giving a shit until they pass 1st round mode » and it sucks.

There are so many flashes of brilliance between games but the inconsistency is killing the vibe. This team got what it takes or not? Figure this shit out man.

And to lose in this fashion against the fucking Isles? For fucking shame. Dear Johners sucking each other off real good tonight.

  19. SDAisaleaf

Samsonov has some minor injury issues, his wife is expecting, and he’s been relatively poor on the road. Murray is coming off a big win and has been much better on the road. Why is Keefe so dumb? this was a no brainer to give Murray another shot and let Samsonov be with his wife, just like they did for Schenn.

  20. kingex11

Start Murray the next two games. Let Samsonov be with his family for the next week.

  21. Jonesdeclectice

The best part about that game is that it ended.

  22. VanAgain

Leafs gotta bring it every night. Boston does.

  23. dwnumber1

The only reason Keefe has so many wins is because he has a monster team, games like this show us why he is an ahl coach at best

  24. Theteacupman

When will Keefe stop fucking with the lines and actually have some consistency. Like I’m tired of this experimentation bullshit

  25. Well, we came out of that game with no injuries with such a physical game so that is a positive

  26. TheGameWaker

Please stop messing with lines. Go back to what’s worked, gear up for the playoffs, and for the love of god get the D pairings in order

  27. Intelligent_Chair901

Well Sammy just came out and said his head wasn’t there tonight. Send him home for the week.

  28. evenstarthian

Damn. That Sorokin fella is pretty good

  29. reddituser3452341

Well, the silver lining is that a good beat down is usually a wake up call.

  30. DownTownBrown28

I’m sorry y’all that was a tough game

  31. howsshegoin

really good point in my analytics group chat – keefe is basically getting an in-season “pre-season” and the opportunity to test hockey theory in real time against live opposition. kind of an unprecedented situation in recent hockey memory and him being able to use this time should pay immense dividends once the games start to really matter.

  32. itaintbirds

You can totally tell who the new leaf fans are on here, with all their optimism. I’ve been watching this team implode for 4 decades. You just get used to it. I will say management completely fucked with the chemistry of this team 20 games before the playoffs and now they look like something the dog threw up. I had hopes they could win a round, but fuck me do they look bad at the moment.
