My hockey friend who was in a top tier league at the time said he changed them because it was easier to see the openings with the white net behind. He went to straight white after that.

As a goalie I always fuckin loved these. The team I played on was red (and then black and green) so it would’ve looked kinda silly if I got them but I really wanted a pair like them.
