  1. Frank has an interesting view on the Jets season so far … thanks WST for arranging the interview and let’s hope the WhiteOut returns to the ‘Peg

  2. Wheeler: 1 point in last five games played. Scheifele: 1 point in last five games played. PLD: 1 point in last five games played. Adam Lowry: 3 points in last five game played. REALLY??????

  3. No leadership on the team! No one is stepping up and taking charge. Enough talent and great goaltending gets the team a few wins, but without high tempo, give it all you've got, will not get you to the playoffs.

  4. There is a character flaw withing the core group, which will not change till some of them are moved out. I also believe that early in the season they were giving it their all and this group just does not have another gear which is needed as the season progresses.

  5. Not a fan of Scheifele despite him being the top point getter on the team…..this team is mediocre because of its poor leadership. When you look at the Bombers the players coach themselves and the coaches provide the necessary guidance and decision making. Dubois is not a leader….he's a follower. Even if they make the playoffs they aren't going anywhere….they don't even deserve to to make the playoffs. Sorry to see this franchise flounder but it is ever since Big Buff mysteriously left the team. I wonder what his take would be?

  6. as for the power play why is Bowness rewarding the underachievers more ice time? Lowry scores a shorty and Ehlers scores the first goal…..then on the PP we are seeing an 0 for 20 unit going out there and sucking the momentum out of the team?

  7. You guys are spot on,& its so refreshing to hear local guys call it as it is…not suck up to the team. Im a Colorado fan,but we all know who we are talking about here. Not that its all his fault, but Scheflie is a 1 dimensional, selfish diva-who never thinks its his fault.

Just replay his statements at the end of last yr,& then Paul Stasnys comments…& we all knew EXACTLY who Stasny was mostly talking about. Probably a bit of Wheeler,& Dubois also-but this conversation is Scheflie to a tee. I think he thinks hes the best player on earth,& its everybodys elses fault. And I honestly think he cares more bout his stats, than team success.

  8. Great interview from a guy that has been in the room. Unfortunately with the Jets we have seen this movie too many times before. I think Chevy has to be the first one to go, I fear if he doesn't get the hook he won't make enough changes and we will continue to be in the ground hog day loop that we have become accustomed to. The fans are pissed. He has to go and definitely 55 as well, he is like a spoiled kid and I have a feeling he is the root of the problem in the room. We know PLD wants out so you have to try to move him this summer to get something for him. Helleybuck won't want to stay for a rebuild so that is a problem – too bad Burden had issues he would have looked good in a Jets jersey. Blake has given the Jets great service but I think his time is done. I wouldn't move Connor but he sure has sucked lately, he is catching bad habits from 55. Barron and Lowry are keepers. Nino and Vlad were great pickups, I would try resigning both. The defence will need some tweaking as well but there has to be some major trades happening this summer or the arena will be down a few thousand people per game – I think Chipman had better sober up and smell the coffee.

  9. Is Frank looking for an assistant coaching gig by any chance? Sign him now. Give him all the beer!

  10. I thought at the beginning of the year that they would have difficulty this year psychologically.

  11. What's really sad is that the Jets organization will have essentially wasted the best years of Connor Hellebuyck's career because Chevaldayoff was too conservative and cheap to ice a proper team in front of him. The organization and the guys in front of him seem to take him for granted. Like it's OK if we turn the puck over or give up a grade-A scoring chance because our Vezina-winning goalie will save the day. And as a result, he's being bombarded with shots every night and he has to stand on his head just to keep the Jets in games. And to have to do that, over multiple years, is just simply not sustainable. And we've seen the wear take a toll on him the last few games where he's letting in soft goals.

The Jets have held on to their core too long, and this past offseason and at the trade deadline, they failed to address their biggest issue, which was their blue line. And you have to wonder if that sends a signal to Hellebuyck that he's on his own. I really would not be surprised if he doesn't choose to re-sign with the Jets after next season. Especially, when the front office has made no effort to improve the team in front of him.
