@Blackhawks de Chicago

  1. The big question, in my mind, is where this decision came from.

If it’s from Rocky, it’s an unsurprising but still incredibly disappointing revelation. He needs to be forced away from the team in any way possible (wishful thinking, probably).

If it’s from Danny, Faulker, and the others at the top then there really is no reason to have faith the organization will make any good decisions in the future after touting so much change since the Aldrich scandal was uncovered.

The players getting to wear the Pride jerseys and have a positive message displayed front and center on the ice is pretty much the bare minimum anyone can ask for on a night like this and now the front office is just ripping that away from the players and fans alike because of some bullshit excuse about safety concerns? Without even consulting the players?

    Garbage. Straight up garbage.

At this point, I don’t really have any faith in the front office to do the right thing at any point. I’m cheering for the team and the players…I’m glad Murph spoke out last week about this, he’s a good reason why I’m continuing to support the Hawks.

Also don’t go on the main sub. Everyone is coming back out of the woodwork because it’s the monthly “shit on the Blackhawks and get free upvotes” thread.

Man… fuck this front office. Guess we need to clean house again.

The Florida Panthers, with Bobrovsky on the roster, are having Pride night tonight and will have Pride jerseys on for warmups…. You know, Florida, the state that’s passing “don’t say gay” laws. Another fumble from the Wirtz family.

Man, this season keeps on dragging us down.

I thought them trading Dach and the Cat at the beginning of the season was going to be the biggest disappointment…but no, the front office keeps digging in deeper.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were players on the Hawks that feel the way Reimer feels but the Sharks didn’t help him, they let him dig his grave. The Hawks organization taking responsibility for a seemingly non-issue and choosing to protect the indecent is horrible. Still, on the other end, players like Murphy are a beacon of light to really make hockey for everyone like the NHL wants.

I think I am done with this franchise for a while.

For a number of reasons. I’ll probably be back. Eventually.

I am genuinely confused… what does Russia have to do with this?

  9. Clavis_Apocalypticae

    Surprise surprise.

They scapegoated the Russian players. Fucking shameful.

  10. RandB_Queen

Damn, this made me so genuinely sad and disappointed. I had hope that we would at least do this right..

It just blows my mind how many ways there are around the issue. Why not have them sit out of warm ups? Why not let the other players wear them? There is literally no reason why those two options couldn’t have been explored. Not to mention the fact that there have been plenty of Russian players wearing the jerseys this season regardless. It’s just so easy to do the right thing here and it seems like the hawks actually went out of their way to do the opposite. Disappointed but not surprised at all. Do better.

When you are SCARED SHITLESS over a 5 ft nothing DICTATOR 4970 miles away, but yet you have no issue employing and covering up a rapist…. Maybe The Blues or Red Wings are looking for a new fan with over 4 decades of fan loyalty.

You’d think they’d covered up another crime with the way this is being « investigated » under a microscope. Instead of making decisions to protect players like they *should*. Yeah, it sucks the org took the decision away from the players, but if the players concerned had intended on wearing them either way, what is so newsworthy about this? I hope the players are given the opportunity to choose, but I also don’t think they should have to do media for this game. It’s so overblown.

And why, in every headline I saw this in this morning (it was a *lot*) did it say Pride **jerseys** instead of **warm-ups**?

  14. Hutch25

It really pisses me off such a great team of coaches and players has to take the heat for such garbage ownership and management.

  15. Danceswithwood

This organization continues to fuck up every single day without any signs of stopping. I’m legit embarrassed at this point to be a fan

  16. Ok-Situation7642

I have no problem with players sitting out. Still tho for the ones who want to show support they should be able to wear the jerseys.

  17. ElonDiddlesKids

I’ll be a Hawks fan until the day I die, but it’s becoming increasingly impossible to support this team with the current ownership group. Rocky should’ve been forced out after the Beach story and that horrific press conference. This is just further evidence that our ownership and FO need to be exiled from the sport.

  18. we will need to bring a little more politics into sport if we truly want to ruin it

  19. Billydood1776

The fact this is even an issue is ridiculous. It’s a fucking virtue signaling jersey. Stfu and focus on putting a winning product on the ice

  20. Chicago9993

Nobody cares anymore. Just play the fucking game and lose so we can get first round pick.

  21. Final-Error5645

Continuing to be an embarrassment on and off the ice. What a fall
