All political, social justice, sexual orientation, any of these issues need to be kept out of sports. Sports is athletics pure and simple. I watch sports to be entertained, not lectured. If the NHL continues this way I will find other avenues of sports to spend my time and hard earned money on.

The Blackhawks have REALLY been promoting gay pride and diversity over the last year. You’d think the “LGBT community” makes up a large segment of hockey fans. Why is it necessary for an NHL franchise to celebrate, or even acknowledge, what genitals fans have or what they choose to do with them? I love hockey, in part, because it was pretty traditional. In Chicago, the fans stand and cheer wildly throughout the national anthem- it’s a tradition. Can’t imagine that the same people are likely to warm up to the rainbow flag nonsense

Think all players including the Russians only signed up to be a member of the hockey team and to wear the team jersey, and fans support their teams United with other fans of their teams. Why should race, politics, and religion have anything to do with sports especially when fans & players do not discriminate on those basis.
