Nick I would not suggest making fun of Luka. He is the literal heart of this team and the fans have forgotten that. Once Kyrie came on this team, the chemistry is completely gone. I feel horrible for Luka that his teammates and his coach have bailed on him and now the fans are starting to. This team would be nothing without him and he has worked his ass off for 5 years and I am amazed how people don't appreciate how hard it is to play for a joke like Kidd and have a cancer on your team like Kyrie. Its either brunson is the coach last season or igor kokoskov..because on paper this team is better last season..you replaced brunson with kyrie..added wood without losing key pieces from last year and added a free agent of tim hardaway jr…..and this kind of team can't lose to a hornets on sale without lamelo rozier oubre…..it just can't that is a g-leauge team

From the top down, the Mavericks have made themselves a player empowerment wasteland. Nick, this summer I remember you laughing at the ideal of acquiring Kyrie Irving when Brooklyn gave him a chance to find team that wanted him. People like me (at the time) thought it was a natural fit to replace Brunson. Waiting until you've already blown the season to trade two starters for him was sheer lunacy. Read what Brunson said about Kidd….He's basically saying that Kidd allowed him to showcase his talents FOR free agency. Kidd probably should've treated him like he's treating Wood over his refusal to sign their extension offer.

This was a terrible effort from the start. The coach is the one to set the tone and the importance of the moment in a game like this. This lackadaisical coach has a team that reflects his leadership mentality. He absolutely should be sacked today this year has been unbearable and embarrassing. Kidd has stuck with ehat has not worked at all yet he stays with his rotations and same just crap. And the defense is a joke.
1. Jason Kidd is an ass and always will be. They need a more energetic, motivational coach and one that wont put up with Luka's shit.
2. Luka's Shit: dude has to grow up. Get in shape, stop complaining literally every single time you take a shot, and be a leader on the court. Kyrie is not staying with an immature superstar. Yes, Luka is a superstar, but all the best teams have a superstar and the ones that win championships are grown ups. Luka isn't a grown up yet

They start their worst forwards. They also don't have many forwards. Really they have 3 on the roster and one is good but he doesn't start. They always just shoot 3's cause of that. Ross Perot was the best owner they had. He traded Kidd for Finley, Cassell and AC Green. probably the best trade in NBA history. Cause Kidd isn't as good as those players. I remember they started winning right away and those 3 would average 50 /15 / 15/ 5 / 3 / on 50% every game. That is a lot more than what Kidd and loren meyer can do. Then Perot Brought in Someone that had won Championships in the NBA and has Built 60 Win Championship Teams. later built the Warriors with Curry, Thompson and Green He drafted all 3 of them as President and GM of the Warriors for 3 years, Don Nelson.
Then They traded injured Jim Jackson who actually did suck on defense, never passed and some others for a Legit Shot blocker, Inside Player and Point Guard with Shawn Bradley and Robert Pack.
So they had a Young athletic Tall team. Then Nelson drafted Dirk and traded for Nash. Signed Trent and Hubert Davis. Nico harris never signs anyone good, that people have seen play. Then they quickly became a 55 win team every year even a 60 win team every year.
It's takes a GM that has won Rings and actually knows the game. A guy that has won at different levels of basketball throughout their life and understands what really wins.
Too bad Perot Sold the team then for 1.5 billion after buying them for 350Million in 1996. Perot made a cool Bill in 3 years and built one of the best teams ever.

I used to thoroughly enjoy watching the Mavericks play. Win or lose it used to be competitive. I always felt like they had a chance. For a long time now they just can't close out games, they lose big leads, they can't defend the rim whatsoever and teams can score at will. All of they're games that they should be blowing these teams out they're barely scraping by or worse losing . It has gotten worse since the Irving trade was made, but this is all on the coach. The Bucks wouldn't have won a championship had they not fired Kidd. Dallas needs to reevaluate their coach. He needs to be gone. When kids first came to Dallas as their head coach he was relying on the team that had been coached up by Carlisle and they succeeded because of that. Now this team is all on him and it shows. They have no identity and no plan. Why is Powell still a starter? He only makes lob dunks created by Luka, and he can't defend anyone in the paint. None of it makes sense and all boils down to coaching.

This is hard for us. Hard for me, and I wonder. Am I excusable to start following another team? I don’t live in Dallas anymore but can’t do anything but love them. I saw this coming yet I still let them do this to me. Fans are fanatics right? But at some point I can’t keep following a broken system that it refuses to correct while telling us everything’s fine keep buying into our product. Honestly best bet is to get a draft pick, build around Luka, Josh & Hardy. Hopefully Kyrie comes back and build the roster out from there
