We messed up not getting a true bridge goalie at the deadline. Luukonens stats are absolutely horrendous. Anderson will probably retire and were probably stuck with comrie. Levi might have a rough time.
D zone coverage is killing Buffalo this season . Players stand around watching the puck carrier instead of covering their man . They neeed to close the gaps on opposing players to help out their goalie.
This summer Adams needs to replace D coach Marty Wilford and to bring in a stay at home d man to partner Owen Power as well as improve the penalty kill.
The victor oloffson experiment needs to end. Its like playing shorthanded if he doesnt score
Joe you are embarrassing yourself. Dahlin was awful. Hasn't scored a goal since January. Norris trophy faded fast. The year is not a success. The organization is a joke top to bottom. Twelve years out of the playoffs, how can you even suggest the year was a success. They folded once again like a cheap lawn chair. How does Seattle make the playoffs in there second year and the sabres can't make it 12. Just a gutless hackey team. Great trade getting Greenway. The 6'6" invisible man. They took Kevin Adams lunch money on that one and Granto said I gotta have that guy. What a bunch of losers! Maybe some how the Sabres win the draft lottery. That's the only way you call this year a success.
I think the seasons been a success. All the young players that we want to build around (cozens, krebs, tuch, Thompson, Quinn, power, samuelsson, dahlin) all took a step. All the prospects look amazing. Levi signed. And our holes are obvious, goal tending and defensive depth both in the d core and forward unit. I think Adams didn’t made moves at the dead line cuz I think he wants to keep the assets and use some of that cap space im free agency
What are we going to do with these goalies? Well, how about give them goal support and play a little bit of defense in front of them? Seems pretty simple.

However this season turns out i Hope at the Draft i Hope KA Trades Oloffsson and Joki for Thatcher Demko. Whatever they do with levi i hope he goes to the Roch and develops for a year or two and the give him Full Reigns but Defenee needs to be Shores up. Trade for Demko And Sign Matt Dumba And Scott Mayfield in Free Agency.
I feel this season was a success they had their ups and downs. They are still a young team and this season showed the hart and talent they have and more drive for the future.
I agree 100% we need to get a competent and experienced bridge goalie for next season. We need our Biron of today. Send UPL back down to Roch or trade him (his trade value could have been much better if we sent him down to Roch on a high note when Comrie came back from his injury back in January). Speaking of Comrie, I really think could be a serviceable backup to the hypothetical new bridge goalie next season if the D tightens up, like he was during the beginning stretch of this season. Levi needs at least a season to cook on Roch; the notion that he'll all of a sudden be ready for NHL games right away, I believe is super wishful thinking and flies in the face of how goalies actually develop, even elite ones.
I don't think sabres would get enough for him to make it worth it to give up on him, rather run with upl and levi and move on if upl can't prove enough to be a backup to levi. I could honestly see anderson coming back next year to give it a run again and that would be someone i would be open to giving another one year deal, to be that veteran presence in the sabres goalie room. Levi already said that's one of the reasons he is excited to be here so that's another reason to keep him around if he is down for another run

Some of you probably aren’t successful in life… if you think this Sabres team has been a success… how easy is this team to play against? No timely goaltending. A coach that doesn’t make the youngest team in hockey practice. A GM that is going to try and be the first person to play more than 18 skaters in a game, and just can’t trade anything away… multiple 5 game losing streaks… not being able to put a tourniquet on ONE loss, and it ALWAYS turning in multiple losses in a row. How many times have we lost by 5 goals? Only TWO wins in the entire season, when scoring less than 4 goals…
Some people want to give credit, just because they’re young… I’ll give credit when they’re actually good!
Joe wants to act like the Bruins aren’t physical, and it doesn’t matter… they have SIX players with over 100 hits! The Sabres have ZERO!!! Stop with the foolishness, acting like physicality in hockey doesn’t matter. Get off of Schopp’s balls! He’s wrong!
UPL was also inconsistent with the Amerks , maybe more time with them is better
ive been saying all year why don't they just make a line that doesn't play at all 5on5… olofsson, mitts and girgensons/poso… easy…. just roll 3 lines for 5v5 and only trot those guys out on the special teams situations or maybe 1 shift a period… Olofsson goal scoring still an asset on PP.
