The fourth last game of the Flames season is against Winterpeg and Nashville is our second last. Could get interesting!!

The Flames must complete their fate of finishing as the highest ranked team outside of the playoffs to secure the traditional mid-teens draft pick.

While possible the straight up odds of us winning and the jets and Nashville both losing their next games is 12.5 percent and we essentially need this to happen 3 times in the next 8 games. This excludes 3 point games. Very long odds.

The hope is faint but there is credence in the remaining schedules of each team. Nashville has those games in hand but play the much more difficult schedule. Only 2 games against a non playoff bound team. Conversely the Flames face only 2 teams bound for the playoffs. And the Jets coach can’t seem to figure out how to motivate his best players when they have plummeted to the last wild card spot with a middling strength of schedule ahead of them.
Is it likely to make the playoffs, nope, not at all. But if the Flames can go on a run they could squeak in
Hope is the only point of sport. To give us something to believe in. Ya’ll who are writing the season off already while they still have a real chance… Let yerself have some fun with it! This is what it’s all about!
