Glad we took care of the Sens. Overall, Blackwood looked solid. I think the playoff tandem will be Vanecek and Blackwood, probably with Vanecek getting the first start. However, I could see them alternating after losses or if VV has a shaky loss at least.
Boys I don’t think it’s mere coincidence that I finally decided to get off my ass yesterday and send out my heritage jersey to get customized and then we won and clinched! Y’all are welcome
Could we have played a better game? Yes
Could we have got better goaltending? Absolutely
Could the PP be better? I mean the PP scored…but still.
Is Jack Hughes back? He never truly left, but goddamn the beautiful boy is back and he’s splitting D and scoring goals again.

Win or lose, I think in recent games McLeod has been an unsung hero for this team. He is always motoring out there, killing penalties, winning draws, just doing everything we need from a 4th line center. Honorable mention to Bahl who’s been a rock back there.
Not sure why Boqvist wasn’t in the lineup, but he should be back in for Sharangovich (don’t think he did much last night), and Smith looked like a liability out there.
If there is anyone we absolutely have to re-sign it’s Graves. He does so many little things to break up rushes, relieve pressure in the D-zone, and can make some nice breakout passes.
A 6-3-0 finish will set new team records for wins and points. That should be our goal for the rest of the regular season.
Goaltending continues to be our biggest concern. Blackwood wasn’t good last night and it didn’t matter because the Senators are a bad team, but we’re not going to get away with weak goaltending in the playoffs. I hope one of Vanecek/Schmid/Blackwood can play well enough to win us a round. The rest of the team deserves that.
