We shouldn't be putting too much pressure on him for sure, but saying nobody has made the jump from college to making an impact in the playoffs recently is straight up wrong. Maker and McAvoy both had big impacts in the playoffs before playing a single regular season game, and Caufield had 12 points on the way to the finals after just 10 regular season games.

NCAA to the NHL is like going from Boys league to Mens league.
I see people saying well what about Makar? Caufield?…I say those guys represent the exception and not the rule. More often then not prospects stepping into the NHL look like they need more time to develop in the minor leagues and that becomes apparent in the first 3-10 NHL games the play.
The things he's got going for him is his size and the fact that the Leafs LW position is rather lackluster compared to the C and RW positions. But is he better today then the guys playing currently on 3rd and 4th forward lines….I remain skeptical but I hope I'm proven wrong.
