  1. None….leafs will fall in 5 games in playoffs…..they are a complete joke…..no tenacity no heart no grit……it’s over folks these last 15 games …10 reg and 5 playoff games will be the last time you see matthews in a leafs jersey………and everyone should be livid…..stop giving this organization a pass ……wasted the matthews era…..kyle and Sheldon should be run out of town by leaf fans after this years coming disaster

  2. If the leafs are relying on a college hockey rookie to get them over the playoff hump, they are already doomed

  3. We shouldn't be putting too much pressure on him for sure, but saying nobody has made the jump from college to making an impact in the playoffs recently is straight up wrong. Maker and McAvoy both had big impacts in the playoffs before playing a single regular season game, and Caufield had 12 points on the way to the finals after just 10 regular season games.

  4. Was the last impactful player that came out of college not cole caufield?

  5. MATTHEW KNIES IS GETTING 15 GOALS AND 45 POINTS THIS PLAYOFFS TO LEAD THE LEAFS TO THE CUP

  6. What in the fuck… did this guy just forget about Cole Caufield? He was the reason MTL made it to the finals.

  7. Makar literally won the conn smythe last year. Surprised nobody corrected Craig before this was posted lol

  8. I agree with Button here. Except did he forget Makar exists? He had an immediate impact.

  9. The Leafs aren't relying on Knies. Anyone who thinks they are is high.

  10. No impact they should traded him to coyotes and we got Chychrun and we kept Sandin.

  11. Lol he's a sophomore who's like 20th in conference scoring, yeah, no. Leaf land is so delusional it's actually sad.

  12. I think you’re forgetting Cale Makar was very impactful for the Avalanche coming right out of college

  13. As this Leaf’s core changes out – when JT & Reilly are gone in a few years – perhaps he might be a top six forward with the Leafs?

  14. NCAA to the NHL is like going from Boys league to Mens league.

I see people saying well what about Makar? Caufield?…I say those guys represent the exception and not the rule. More often then not prospects stepping into the NHL look like they need more time to develop in the minor leagues and that becomes apparent in the first 3-10 NHL games the play.

The things he's got going for him is his size and the fact that the Leafs LW position is rather lackluster compared to the C and RW positions. But is he better today then the guys playing currently on 3rd and 4th forward lines….I remain skeptical but I hope I'm proven wrong.

Give the kid time, he is still a kid.
