Scheifele was a bust, he just doesn’t have it to be a leader. I think he caved under the pressure to have a team built around him. When he gets traded he’ll do better if he’s supporting another core.

We can’t forget Scheifele was Chevy’s first ever draft pick with this franchise after Hawerchuk pushed hard for the Jets to take him. Chevy will never admit to any deficiencies Scheifele has had because of this. Same thing with Stanley…Chevy traded up to get him and given Logan every opportunity and he won’t trade Stanley because of it. To admit failure on these players require Chevy to admit to failure on himself.

Scheif was one of my favourite players for quite awhile. Just hasn’t had “it”. Since the covid playoff suspension he has not looked the same. For stretches sure, but not the same player.
