  1. Team defense continues to be a leaky boat…. it is CHRONIC. You cannot stroll into the playoffs in this kind of defensive disarray and expect to beat the best teams in the NHL. Overnight cures for poor defense are a pipe dream.

  2. Solid comments on Kane guys. People jump off the bandwagon and overreact very fast. Kane's play will be vital in the playoffs. If the Oil win the cup he will be one of the possible Conn Smythe guys.

  3. My bad thing is listening to Cam Moon mispronounce Pietrangelo as Petriangelo all night! Yeesh!
Also goaltending, holy crap how much do we have to pay to get a +900 sv%?!

  4. Nuge is going to hit 100 this season. He's having an insane year and I'm incredibly excited to see him pushing that number.

  5. If my stats are correct, if Nuge makes 100 points, Edmonton would be the 14th team in NHL history to have three players with 100 or more points in a season, and the 6th Oilers team to achieve this feat. McDavid would also be the 6th player to achieve 150 in a season…although a certain No. 99 did assist one of those five to his 150 for a team which will remain unmentioned.

  6. Nuge has been huge this year, he just keeps on racking up the points. I liked that game alot aswell! Lets do it on Thursday against the Kings!

  7. 60% of the time you Win EVERY time… When your Special team goes PERFECT.
I can also feel Oilers nation getting more amped the closer RNH gets to 100 points… hopefully it happens at home.
Leon is peaking at the PERFECT time along with Nurse.
Nurse has been great for a couple months now.

  8. My gd thing, Connor McDavid. Thought his attention to detail on defense was topshelf. He was throwing big hits even on his last shift. Nice to see. Plus 3 assists. My bad play of the game was Broberg weak pass that hit Kessels stick.

  9. Hobkins has matured a lot since 4-5 years ago when he was happy being a 45 point 2 way forward. Great fun to watch him now most nights.

  10. Good win in Vegas 2nite….Broberg n Bouchard ?????????? Gunna have to step up in the playoffs…LA will feast on them…Knights 4ward just skated by him easily, didn't see no effort on the SH goal…See wat happens Thursday…

  11. David are you in the bathroom for this podcast ? The hollow sound is why I ask

  12. David, really appreciate your comments and perspective on Kane….well done lad….that man almost died in the fall playing for The Oilers…he’ll be back and be back strong.
This contract is not a bust. It’s a thing of genius. Holland is just that

  13. Who are these fans who make such statements as”Kane’s contract is a bust”? David you must listen to Twitter which I avoid. Sometimes I think that there is a subcontinent of fan who think that being an expert analyst is just to be the first to condemn something without weighing the overall performance in a reasonable time period with measurable data. It is frustrating at times.

  14. I think Leon was battling some nagging injury for awhile. When they don't have him playing center or taking key faceoffs usually means something is off.
Now he's driving his own line again and taking key faceoffs and looking like his old self.

Oilers PP and PK both at 100%. Edmonton nearly double the shots on goal vs Vegas. Quick got pulled after 2 periods. This could have been a no-mercy type game (and wasn't that far from it). Odd thing: I know the boys didn't play their best in this one. It was better than average but not their best. Skinner let in 2 of the first 3 shots (he was rocking a .333 save percentage for quite some time in the 1st period). We're 1 point behind LA (who lost to Calgary, I can't quite make myself cheer for Calgary (without tasting bile) but glad they won to give us a shot at moving up in the standings. Next game we play LA. We win we take over 2nd in the division and are 1 point behind Vegas who face San Jose next (and should wipe the floor with them but one never knows). Nuge ruled in this game with a 5 point night, 1 goal, 4 assists. I think he needs only what, 4 points to hit 100 for the first time in his career. Leon got a goal so he's only 3 short of another 50 goal season (because they never get old no matter how many times he does it). Connor is 7 points from 150. He still hasn't scored a goal since hitting 60 but it's been all of 2 games. What I found disturning is he had ZERO credited shots on goal this game so he was dishing. It was great seeing Kane score and Kulak (been some time) and Nurse getting another never hurts too. Three D men got goals this game with Bouchard's goal on the PP. The lines were working. I have to admit I prefer when they play 7 D. They seem to win more games this way. Take care all

  16. Man there were some snipes tonight! RNH…the complete player, offensive tools, defensive awareness, pugilist. The only thing he doesn't do very well is grow facial hair.

  17. Do you think Vegas could have set another stat record by playing 4 goaltenders in 1 game?😁😆😅🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

  18. Big Vinny has been quitly hepling the oil to a .776pts% in his first 29 games played.

  19. Leave Kane alone! The guy just had his wrist slashed. Where would you two "athletes" be in that situation? Jeebus, no wonder the media scrum in Edmonton is regarded as the second worst to Toronto. We have the luxury of having a 40-goal scorer finding his game again after he nearly lost his life earlier during the year. Some perspective here, please. He will hoist the cup soon in Edmonton. Cheers pineapple Iron shirt guy.

  20. Nuge is 1 point behind #5 in scoring Florida Tkachuk and 2 behind #4 in scoring Pasta.
Kucherov at 8 points ahead might be abit of a stretch 🙂

  21. Drai is the best passer in the league.
Leon does consistently what i have seen in 2 or 3 games from opposing teams' players through all of the season.

  22. David! You glossed over the deke around the defender to enable the sweet pass to Kane. Sofa king good

  23. Kane has just had too much time off, I think. His 32 games played were not consecutive, people have to remember. He hasn't had time to get into the NHL season rhythm. I think he's a good professional who can work at it (and probably has been doing what he can this whole time) and still have time yet to peak in the playoffs. I'm sure that's something the Oilers staff have considered and are actively working toward

  24. I’ve always been a fan of Nurse. I could never understand all the hate he gets. People like to complain about the contract but that’s what Dmen of his calibre sign for. Those same people weren’t complaining when Nurse was on a value contract for the last 4 years.

  25. Crazy how the oilers will have 3 100+ point guys. With ahyman finishing with ~85points.
