  1. What did I hear right at 0:51 seconds…??? oh my! I love it though.. because that is how I felt watching this game, haha. 🤣

  2. Arizona taking COLOR to a 4-3 shootout…. & 20 hrs later having to face the Oilers. Great to get the win… maybe assures a finish above SEA… but did let in 4 & lost the 3rd period – so hard to say how OIL will rank in the Play-offs ?? Great to be in the MIX !

  3. Kane needs a few games on the third or fourth line to get his legs back still. Bump Foegle up to play with Drai and Nuge, then Hyman and either Janmark or Yamamoto with McDavid.

  4. Sometimes you guys seem to be obsessed with all the numbers stuff. The reason to love hockey is the beauty of it. First in the Gretz era and now in the McDavid . More beauty descriptions of plays, more awe of that wonder and less math please.

  5. This reminds me of the Ron Burgundy thing. Maybe it was on a teleprompter.

  6. Leon 300!!! Lets hope Bouchard can be polished up for trade value (unlikely to stop the ridic errors/head in clouds but let's hope for that too)… but David's 'Bouch Groupie' approach kind of discredits David's skill as analyst? Will be fab if team/Skinner can get HOT now..! if so, have a chance vs all the West Teams… have to let in less !!
*For next yr, will be down to just 3 bad signings: Yama $3.1m ,Foeg 2.8m, & Campbell.. Just send out Yama for a guy that can finish… & looks good (& replace Bouch).

  7. Edmonton better start performing 5 on 5 at a higher level….playoff hockey is not going to grant them PP's every period ….its a different brand of NHL as we all know. Do we think the Oilers are saving their best defense for the extra season? What gives us that confidence? When this team only plays as well as they have to to squeak out a win~~ how do we know just how good they can be???????? That is the mystery~ they got swept last year vs Colorado and the Kings made em go to 7 after the Kings led 3games to 2 …. Can the Oilers just TURN On playoff defense?

  8. We're getting there:
    #29: 50 goals & 120 pts
    #93: 100 pts
    #97: 66 goals & 150 pts
    Absolutely doable!
I don't care too much about the results of the remaining games – we'll play one of the teams with shiny helmets anyway.

  9. if you want to win a game 4-0 or 6-0 you better find some defensive players. Bouchard has so many blocked shots because everybody we play has at least three defensive players in front of their net blocking shots. something the oilers just don't get. we will never win the Stanley cup if they can't defend.. COME ON MANSON DO YOUR JOB

  10. Campbell .879, sure they got the win but at what point do they move on from this guy? Sooner or later playing him is going to burn the Oil. Whether it’s being forced into the net by injury or some other reason. Jack should be seeing as little time as possible in the blue paint to mediate his poor play. This isn’t a couple weeks, or a few bad games. This is who he is. We’ve had enough of a sample size.

  11. That game was boring and messy! The Oil really only hit the gas pedal after the Yotes tied it in the third. It is a scary proposition having this tandem of goalies for the playoffs!

  12. Statistics for Edmonton at Arizona March 27th, 2023
Again my stats are NOT in the Cult of Hockey's league. They go far deeper than these surface level stats but this gives a numeric foundation to help with what happened by who.

I added a couple of columns to the base information for players. One for PP Time on Ice and one for PK Time on Ice. It shows who's on specialty teams and for how much. It's interesting to see some of the forwards trusted on the PK. Ryan, Bjugstad, Yamamoto many of whom get little if any PP time. I actually like this breakdown (though it's more a pain to get involving more than one site. Of all of the players I think Nuge has the most specialty times time (in this game with more PK than PP time but they were fairly close). That is a two way player. Now on to the game. The PP was BUZZIN. I mean the first one took 6 seconds (with 5 Oilers touching the puck including Leon winning the faceoff) to get a goal. The PK got a shortie so the Oilers are again tied for the highest number of shorties as a team. Look offensively the team was the team. Defensively you want to just smack them upside the head. Cambell was Campbell. Look his rebounds were ridiculous. His reads were off. He got "better" at the end of the game and he did make some saves but honestly if you look at the game overall it wasn't pretty. Take care all.

  13. The Oil hasn't had a shutout since a pre-season game vs The Jets. McDavid will probably write about the perennial leaky defense in his memoirs…

  14. I would like to hear you discuss which line is on when a goal is scored against them it

  15. Jeebus is Bruce shitfaced? Looks a tad bit tired tonight. Time for rest brother

  16. Darnell the 9.2 is to defend on your feet NOT ALL FOURS !!!!! ( AGAIN ) "O" I see another $100,00 and you'll stay on your feet !!!!!!!!!!!!
5th. line forward at best ! / in fact if Edmonton wants to win . BENCH HIM period !

  17. Jack “Trampoline” Campbell. That’s a very good word to describe his rebound control.

  18. Is this two good things! two bad things, two numbers podcast or a history lesson of the 1980’s podcast?

  19. I’m pretty impressed with Bouchard since ekholm came..I just hope he keeps it up…that being said maybe it’s time to put Bouchard and ekholm in the number one pairing!

  20. I never thought I would say I miss koskinen but I do !…lol…every once in awhile koski gave us good goal tending especially against Colorado!…I couldn’t figure out why woody didn’t play koski against the avs when he really had a good record against them!

  21. Campbell problem really is rebounds. He lets in bad goals every blanking game, but if he would just limit the rebounds, he would have a better win record… I would expect 0 shutouts, but he would have more wins…

  22. Oilers will be hard to beat in the playoffs / playoffs are when Oilers usually shine !

  23. It seems alot of goals scored on Campbell is deflected or a screen shot? Is this on him? or the defense?

  24. The coach needs to try Nurse and Desharnais as a pairing , and make Cece go with Kulak. Nurse and Vinny might form a stronger 2nd pairing. Give Cece and Kulak easier minutes.

  25. If we can keep the puck out of our net … We stand a great chance to win .. the cup
