This one was rough! And what the fuck was with that super late start?
Well said-as awful as they played,its a flat out miracle they almost tied it late,& got something out of the game. Not the biggest deal in the world,& finishing 1st or 2nd in the central isnt a must to go on a deep run. Minnesota is the team of these 3 with everything to prove in the playofffs-they are still KIND OF the Toronto of the West,as I reminded smug Wild fans last night. Dallas has made a recent Finals-but hasnt quite got over the hump. Not exactly the same roster,& doesnt guarantee future playoff success-but the Avs are the only Western team with NOTHING to prove in the playoffs.
But finishing 3rd. & having to likely beat Dallas AND Minnesota without home ice-would make it a tougher path. If ya wanna at least have home ice in 1st round-ya better beat Dallas Saturday…at least make them beat you,& dont beat yourself-that just isnt gonna usually work against anybody-let alone a good team. Minny is opportunistic,& it is scary they are gaining tons of confidence they can win without their best player,but theyve also had some very fortunate wins in this amazing stretch.
