  1. As an Avs fan, I just wanted to stop by and say thanks to Shannon for doing a team video that will secure the Wilds spot, below the top! 😎

  2. That avs game felt like a playoff game for both teams and the wild won without Kaprizov. If they keep playing this way with their, now first line, becoming a second line, they'll be dangerous. A defensive minded team (like the isles not so long ago) that has solid depth scoring

  3. As a Wild fan, any playoff appearances, let alone success this year and the next two is playing with house money. There should be NO expectation of a team with 13-16M in dead cap achieving anything. The fact that they are in their current position is a testament to Billy G’s ability to make something out of nothing and the team’s attitude to make these years an exciting to watch reload instead of a boring rebuild.

  4. Thank you for the attention to my team! I think it’s kinda funny how Zucarello kinda disappeared when Kiril did. Those 2 are so completely entertaining together!

  5. As a born and bread Wild fan. I believe Matt Boldy could be our next “franchise” guy. We all love Kaprizov. But it’s highly unlikely kirill will resign without MASSIVE team success in the next 4 yrs or so. I suspect Boldy will have a letter on his chest before his 7 yr contract is up

  6. Minnesota has always been a solid hockey team. Never ever do anything come playoff time tho

  7. One key you missed was that they were LEADING Boston, but had 2 goals overturned due to coach's challenge. Those ended up really changing the tenor, taking away a ton of momentum. There was an open net goal to change the final score – but it was a lot closer than the score appears. Moral victory? Yea – that doesn't mean much, but the Wild showed they could play with the big boys.

  8. In a word: no. We have seen teams get fortunate on the shots they give up and he bailed out by high end goaltending tons before. This team has first round exit tattooed on them.

  9. I think them losing to Vegas in the first round a couple years ago(even though Vegas was great that year) and then losing to the Blues in the first round in 6 games (despite being heavily favored by all the analysts) has made a lot of people feel the same way about the Wild that they do about Toronto when it comes to the playoffs. I’m not saying it’s fair, but Minnesota sports teams do have a reputation of choking come playoff time. I’m a Blues fan so obviously I don’t much like the Wild, but I do think they should at least make it to the second round this year

  10. 1. The Wild looks like they’re built for the playoffs this year plus they have a ton of decent depth to survive a long post season.

As long as they play the way they are now after Nyquist and Kaprizov return, they should make some noise in the playoffs.

    2. It amazes me Minnesota is this competitive with $13million in dead cap space. Imagine of they that extra cash to bring in two solid players.

  11. They have made the playoffs 9 of the last 10 seasons along with the Caps and Blues. Caps and Blues ends this season. Pens have made it 10 of 10 but they are not a lock this year. Early exits mostly for the Wild but 9 out of 10 says something.

  12. If you ask anyone from Minnesota… it simply doesn't matter… the wild could have McD, Mathews, Hedman, Crosby, Leon, and Ovi… and they still wouldn't win… just ask any Minnesota sports fan… lol.

  13. Billy G is proving himself a worthy GM, made a lot of good choices in hindsight.
Kaprizov is as advertised, budding superstar.
Solid group of young talent contributing.
    Surprising goal tending duo.
Finally, let Fiala, a point per game player, leave for nothing in return as UFA. (Although he has disappointed in the playoffs.)

Very impressive team if they play structured hockey. Credit is earned in the playoffs. Just ask the Avs prior to their Cup run last year.

  14. I know we beat Colorado but they really are starting to look like the '21 club again. I'm definitely hopeful for the Wild but we're gonna need Gus and Fleury to get hot – and KK to come back with a force. Otherwise, oof, Colorado is the team to beat I'd say.

  15. 1 regulation 5v5 loss. They've lost once 5v5. Anybody remember what happens for OT in the playoffs? It's 5v5 until you win. I'm pumped

  16. The Wild has really cranked it up. They deserve recognition.

But please do a video on teams being disrespected. ESPN HATES Carolina! And the feeling is mutual, from the fans viewpoint! Their commentators are terribly bias! They like the NE teams and you're gonna know it.

  17. As a fan of the Wild I have to hope this year is different, but we've said that so many times before. In the immortal words of Mike Tice, "Enjoy the season."

  18. The Wild could win the cup and people would still forget within 2 years how good the team is

  19. I like your board. I wonder how it would look with Gus Nyquist's name on it! I think he would bring so much more to the Wild's line up, do you think he could possibly make it back during the playoffs?

  20. I'll be honest, as a Wild fan, they have outplayed my expectations the last several years. They've looked and played really well the last 3 years especially. However, until they win a round in the playoffs (kind of like Toronto), it doesn't mean anything to me. I have to temper my expectations all the time because they never win a round, and I'm disappointed all the time :/. Which really sucks

  21. Nobody cares about respect for recent play. Any team worth a cup run shouldn't give a rat's A$$ what detractors are saying. foot on the gas boys

  22. The playoffs will be the ultimate test. Advancing past the first round would be a great sign.

  23. So, I live in Minny and this is what I have to say about our sports teams, I have absolutely zero faith in any of our teams, the last time that multiple Minnesota teams made it out of the first round was 2004, when the Timberwolves and Vikings won their first round matchups, and the time before that would be 1991, with the Twins and North Stars. And of course, the last time a major Minnesota team won their respective championship was the Twins. It's the Minneapolis Curse, I don't see any Minnesota team going far, maybe not even past the 1st, and we'll be lucky to get to the 2nd and even luckier to get to the Conf. Finals. As much as I'd like to see the Wild, hell any Minnesota team in the finals, I know it won't happen anytime soon. This is the entire reason I don't root for any of the Minnesota teams anymore. Go Canes.

  24. I have been and will be a wild (and Vikings and Twolves and Twins) fan my whole life, so I know the pain and I know why we don’t get the respect I think we deserve from most people. It just rubs me the wrong way however when our game is on a national broadcast like TNT against the avs the other night and it’s “Makar is really having problems with his skates” and “Makinnon is having an off night”. Why can’t Freddie be faster than him? Why Can’t Gus just be playing out of his mind? Maybe we are a good team and deserve to win. (I’m fully aware that 3rd period was a 20 PK😂)

  25. I always smack talk the Wild, because they tend to choke at some point during every season. They're good, though. Very good. Potential Cup run good, and that's coming from an Avs fan. The Wild and the Kings are my dark horse cup contenders this year.

  26. They are good but you have to win in the playoffs to get respect in this league. I still don’t think anybody can take down Colorado in the west, but we shall see how it plays out this year
