And you’ve got Wild supporters in the comments going “oh it makes sense that they do that because you can’t take the Wild seriously with all the first round exits”

Some of this fanbase are just the most miserable people I swear

  2. bubzki2

They sounded bored during the Dewar breakaway. Yes they were.

  3. FlyingGoatGriz

I think that every time I tune in for a wild National broadcast

  4. LukePendergrass

I thought maybe there was a tinge of bias, but they could have also been excited about the more dramatic option. Avs comeback is more exciting than Wild coasting to victory for a truly unbiased ‘fan of the game/moment’

  5. WranglerLeading9265

Avs fan here, I come in peace you guys won and you look good 👍🏻, I will not watch tnt or nhl network broadcasts anymore I feel the same way every time we play Vegas or Edmonton.

  6. Stillintherapy

They fucking were and they couldn’t even give credit to the Wild during intermissions. Fuck that national broadcast.

  7. 1niquity

You can tell they’re doing it when they use phrases like « the puck takes a good/bad bounce ».

A « bad bounce » was always in Minnesota’s favor, a « good bounce » was always in Colorado’s favor.

Sometimes you could tell they were catching themselves do it and they try to modify it after they realize it to make it seem more neutral, « And there’s a good bounce….. For Colorado. »

  8. Kurt4413

Guys, relax. They referred to us as the “1st Place Minnesota Wild” most of the night.

  9. I thought I heard that on and off but overall not too unbalanced IMO. Seemed like they wanted it to be a close and competitive battle rather than a one-sided blowout.

Nowhere near as bad as watching B1G Network.

  10. donwothe

I was watching this and the timberwolves at the same time. I was shocked hearing both being so clearly biased away from us. I’d prefer watching the other teams broadcast than a biased national broadcast.

  11. 6thedirtybubble9

I’ve always thought announcers get hard over the avocados. Refs too for that matter. Landeskank is a goon.

  12. _Me_At_Work_

Intermission aside (I’ll never like/watch a portion of the broadcast that supports someone who claimed a totally innocent person was racist because they lost full in an « argument), I didn’t think the casters were really bias. They did individual pieces on guys like Steel, talked about imagine if Kap was still in and we were playing this good, fanboying over Boldy, etc.

Like someone else said they were maybe hoping for the more dramatic option to happen and push this from a good game between two of the top teams to a legendary outing that felt like playoffs before it was playoffs. Let’s be real, for at least the first half of that 3rd period the Avs deserved all the praise from the announcers, who also praised Gus Bus and our defense for his/their performance while under siege.

  13. Foxhockey

Eh….I have heard far worse. I didn’t lose any sleep over it last night but maybe that was because I was really tired. I wonder why?

  14. don_the_phenomenon

Turned it on and it was pretty biased but I wasn’t surprised

  15. wildwill57

Think you feel it was biased because you’re biased.

  16. STP_ExPat

Whoever their rules official was for that game was a clown. If the guy can’t even say the refs messed up on the delay of game call at the end, why go to him at all?

« And now we’ll throw to the guy who makes excuses for the refs. »

« Thanks, Keith, what we have here is a ridiculous call that the ref made. You can see by the shirt he is wearing that it’s the right call. Any questions? »

  17. Joesdad65

Even with Kaprizov, the Wild are not a sexy team to the media. They thoroughly outplayed the Avs, but the announcers rarely pointed that out.

  18. LoopDaddi

I am not fond of the TNT Broadcast as a whole, and it’s unfortunate.

  19. _BeerAndCheese_

I’ll be honest, we ended that game with a huge win against a Cup favorite to solidify our place atop the division. After the celebrating was done, the adrenaline leaked out, I had a passing thought: « I wonder how long it will be before there’s a post bitching about the broadcast « hating » the Wild ».

Guys, get over the persecution complex. Please. Everyone thinks national broadcast hates their team because they aren’t homers, or as knowledgeable about your favorite 4th line player as the local broadcast.

Jonesy wanted an OT, like any neutral fan would. And honestly I was giving a lot of kudos to TNT because they were favoring the Wild through the first two periods if anything. Constantly acknowledging their good play, talking about Gus as a Vezina potential, admiring the PK completely shutting down the Avs. Tons of talk about how fuckign good Brodin is. Obviously they were giving Avs praise in the third because we had like, what 2 shots?

If you get the mentality out of your head that everyone is out to get you, all this shit you think you see magically disappears.

Just, fucking enjoy a huge win without having to be negative and find something to complain about! Or don’t, but I promise you’ll enjoy the Ws a lot more.

  20. AllenMpls

    You are correct.

    It is math.

There was way more people watching the AVS instead of Wild fans. They always try to keep the majority entertained(watching commercials.) Who would watch a Chicago – Arizona game?

This will change when the Wild is a dominate team.

TNT did call a good game. They only mention Kaprizov’s absent 100 times. (which one of you is in detox from drinking at every mention.)

  21. Braaapp-717

Honestly, they weren’t that bad. They’re commentary swung based on game flow- as it should.

The intermission crew have us a lot of love. They really like Reavo and Middleton.

  22. Rocknbob69

I never take too much stock in anything hockey on TNT. In large the personalities are crap. Liam is the only decent one and they should get Keith Jones out of the penalty box.

  23. ThMightyThor

Really? I honestly thought they were a little more biased towards us

  24. JustaRoosterJunkie

Defending Stanley Cup Champions will always get more attention than the opponents. Particularly over a club that really hasn’t shown up in the playoffs in 8 years.

Unfortunately, the burden of proof is on the club with something to prove. Take the hate, that chip on your shoulder and be productive about it. Whining like sniveling bitches won’t accomplish a damn thing.

  25. ag-0merta

I mean they’re the defending Stanley cup champs. I feel like it’s normal for a national broadcast to be biased. It’ll be the same for the Chiefs and the NFL putting them in the spotlight next season.

  26. CollisionCourse321

Commentators want a close, fun game. Who doesn’t want OT?!

  27. sorryboutmyfeece

They were. Every broadcast we are basically the MN Mild and what’s his nuts talked shit on our depth that one season and tried playing the race card on Russo when Russo called him out on the amount of depth on the ice that were actually playing in the game they were broadcasting. Should be fun to watch since TNT has the rights to playoff hockey this season. That being said Let’s Go!!!!
