Fair enough, Glad to hear it honestly.

    Hoping to see Hirose tonight

Win win. Give the kids a look and let him heal properly

  3. afterbirth_slime

Gives him a chance to recover and prevent it from becoming a Hronek ailment.

Knowing our injury announcement history, homie is going to end up needing amputation.

Saw he was a good pickup with solid defensive chops now he gets to rest and come back stronger next year.

Smart move tbh absolutely no reason to risk making his injury worse

That is totally fine and he looked good in his short stint. These games aren’t worth the risk of possibly hurting something

Yeah I don’t hate this at all.

So he’a being Mikhayev’d for the season. See ya next year I guess 👋

Hughes is going to play 30+ mins from now on.

Good. Maybe if we’d done the same with Demko we’d actually be in a position for a decent pick this year, instead of the usual ‘not good enough for the playoffs, and not bad enough for a top 10 pick’ position.

If there’s anything this franchise excels at, it’s mediocrity.

Wow it’s nice to have some logical thinking coming from the front office. He looks like a great fit, let him rehab properly — we don’t need anyone getting injured further for pointless games.

“There’s really no reason for him to come back…”

If he thinks that way, I wonder why our top guys are still playing top minutes…. I want Petey and Hughes to get more points, but this is the best time to give our young guys to prove themselves. (Should have done it since 10 games ago)

Should rest Demko while they’re at it. Need to lose some games here.

Makes sense to play it safe. Paid a lot for him and it’s pointless to force him back, instead of let him be ready for next season.

  16. joeyandkuma

So if he was injured why play him 25 minutes a game for mean nothing games

  17. overscaled

Somehow this feels like a good news in every way.

  18. shadownet97

Play it safe rather than risk him worsening his injury or getting injured elsewhere.

Just play out the season as best as you can and come back next season healthy and stronger.

Pretty excited we get Hronek and OEL with an extended off season

    Perfectly fine with this decision.

More importantly I hope this injury is not long term issue. Shoulders can be an on going issue if not more severe.

    Right call.

I liked what I saw of Hronek and that was with an injured shoulder. Looking forward to seeing how he plays with a healed shoulder next year.

Two benefits come from this I think:

    – A solid defenceman gets to heal an injury
    – our younger guys get more of a look at the NHL level and exposure/playing time
