Seem like they believe Lekkerimaki, Klimovich, and Forsell have high upside but low floors, while players like Raty, Pettersson, and Johansson seem like safe bets but with more middle six/bottom 4 D ceilings. Curiously, their write-up on Johansson is far more positive then their overall ranking suggests.

For a team that has been utter garbage for a while, that list is very depressing.

There isn’t a future star player in the system, but Aatu Raty is probably the most crucial player on that list to hit. If Raty can hit as a middle-6 centre, it’s huge for this team.
1) This team needs another middle-6 centre
2) Raty should be affordable for awhile, which is going to be huge when they’re going to be paying ~20ish million for Petey + JT.

Any chance Bains ever gets a chance? Wasn’t he a WHL leading scorer at one point?

Hoglander and podkolzin should be on these lists, or are they just too old or something?

Pretty wild that trading Horvat got us our top prospect in our system, our second best defensemen and saved us $68million dollars.

I remember when we were always one of the the top comments on the “which team has the best prospect pool” threads on /r/hockey. Petey and Quinn in the pipeline made the future look bright. Now they’re here, and they are even more awesome than we could have hoped, and… we still suck.
Feels bad, bro.

So…is Jett Woo the oldest “prospect”
Now? Is it time to cut him loose?

When the athletic did overall team rankings (before trade deadline) we were bottom 5-6 with the only teams below us all having cup wins in the last 10-12 years.
