  1. Ekholm the Viking has been GREAT since his arrival… Oilers wanted to be better 5v5… he was +3 tonight and already +13 since joining the Oilers.
    He rarely makes any mistakes.

  2. The water Nicholson speaks of…… it has been changed for anti aging water just look at the NUGE.

  3. Bouchard with 8 points in his last 6 games. He's been a different Dman paired with Ekholm.

  4. The Techno Viking is taking no prisoners. Another +3 tonight.

  5. defense needs to be the focus this last stretch …..Eckholm starting to carry the defensive load over Nurse…24 minutes vs 18 for nurse.

  6. Once Hyman is back Yamamoto needs to be off McDavids line…to small for the nhl…bounces off guys…at fist he was a fire cracker now he just gets beaten

    Scratches McLeod, Hyman

3 Stars, Skinner (big Yes), McDavid (duh) and Bouchard (yeah, he had a good to great game).

Skinner made some great saves. That one just before Janmarks first goal (the shortie from McDavid / Desharnais) was inspired. He made the save, got the puck to Vinny who got it to Connor and "somehow" Janmark kept up with Connor and finished great on it. Calgary beat Vegas (and it wasn't close, I mean it was a no mercy 5 point win) but unfortunately both LA and Seattle won. We're in 3rd in the Pacific (still) one point up on Seattle and we face them next. The next games against division and conference opponents will really set the stage. This was a great game. Absolutely ZERO scoring in the 2nd period. Janmark loves scoring on previous teams (lol). Oh, yeah, Connor with 57 goals. Anyone think he won't make 60 in what 13 games remaining (chortle, snicker). Bjugstad almost got the empty netter but no problem, Janmark was there.

Again, I know I'm not in the Cult of Hockey's league, these just give a simple overview.

  8. Foegele has really stepped up his game since the trade deadline.
Also, glad to see Kostin Back, in 9 min he was just as effective as Yamamoto in 19 min of play. Honestly when Hyman is back I would rather put Kostin in over Yammo for a few and see if Kostin runs with it the 2ay Foegele has.

  9. There are a few comments here about Yamamoto. I certainly don't want to be unkind, I am sure he's a great guy and that he is well-liked. But at this point he's a 3 million dollar mascot on the team who has no place in the top six and probably not in the bottom six either. Frankly he should be playing with the Condors. He rarely adds anything to the game these days. He seems a step behind, and often physically overwhelmed and easily pushed off the puck. Smaller guys can produce, look at Brad Marchand. Even our Derek Ryan is totally out playing Yamamoto right now. I don't understand the internal coaching or politics that keeps putting Yamamoto up in the top six

  10. Yamamoto is playing himself right off the team, never mind McDavids line. And David the odds of the Oilers and Stars meeting in the first round is maybe 1% the Stars would have to win their division and the Oil would have to submarine to a wildcard spot. I’d say it’s about 99% that it’s Oilers and Kings again, unless Vegas starts playing .500 and the Oil can beat them in the remaining match ups.

  11. Glad y'all mentioned Connor's line mates!! Who else would keep their spot in the top6 if they were giving next to nothing?!
Kostin scores and is a healthy scratch for 3 games! Yamo does nothing and stays in the top 6?! What gives?!

  12. Kane is not quite healed from rib injury / will be better player when rib is totally healed !

  13. Hemski's time here was largely wasted being injured, due to the Oilers ludicrous decision to think having protectors/enforcers was "dinosaur hockey". Same with Hall, and Gagner and RNH and Eberle. All injured for long stretch's with injury's caused by other players taking liberty's with no fear of reprisal. It's amazing how many fans got suckered into that thinking. Thank God that's over ( I hope).

  14. Condolences to the surviving Victim and to the surviving Father of the boy and to the Families of the deceased Police Officers ….a 16 year old being involved in such a sad event will leave behind a complicated story. How many points does Bouchard have since he got prime minutes ? He is looking like a Norris lock next year with a possible 100 Point season.Mark that here.
