When it is more important in a game to get Rantanen’s 50th goal than winning this game after leading twice by two goals, there is something wrong with the attitude of this team. At least Nathan MacKinnon knew that a win was important. Everyone could see again what a “great” d man Samuel Girard is. Actually, him playing in the playoffs will lower the chances for the Avalanche to defend their title. Again he played like a very, very expensive amateur.
We need Manson back… since his injury, Girard always seems to be on the ice when momentum swinging goals occur. With Manson back and the d line pairs back to “normal” I think we find our next gear. Obviously I want Landy and lehky back, but Manson to me is the key to a potential deep run. Hope we finish strong and secure the division, would be a massive accomplishment with this funky season and a great way to start the playoff run!
I would think that if Landy can do it, it would be better to have him come back for a least a few shifts in a regular season game to get his legs back. Is there an issue with his LTIR preventing that? I didn't think that was a factor, we didn't make any $$-significant trades.
I would love to see Mikko go big in the playoffs. Maybe not a dark horse exactly, but if he has a better playoff run than last year the team will be in a great spot
When Lehkonen and Landeskog come back, Newhook and Eller. Malgin played better than Newhook and yes, if Helm is injured, Eller stays.
Can you imagine if Mack steps it up for the playoffs like usual? In the words of Crosby this is probably the best he's ever played and he always brings it up a level for playoffs. Excited to see it!

Don't get to reading too much into all these guys being on the road trip. It's the last big trip of the season so they're just taking everyone for some team bonding before the playoffs. Landy is still iffy to start the playoffs, he might even be iffy for round two. Manson just started skating the other day, so he's likely out into the playoffs as well. Frankie is taking shots now, but I don't think he's taken a full practice yet. hoping he can be back for a game or two at the end of the season to get his timing back. Lehkonen is the only one that I have any hope of playing on this road trip. He just started skating with a stick a couple of days ago and is no longer wearing the brace on his hand – he could be back as soon as he's confident in it and the docs give him the thumbs up.
It's a big stretch to assume full health for the playoffs, but if they are here are the lines I could see them running.
