  1. Election interference you say in Arizona? That kind of stuff never happens in our state. Anyone who says otherwise is just drinking the hater-aid

  2. Sounds like Phoenix city council/mayors/planners/etc wants a plan like this downtown. I fully get it. American cities hate watching the suburbs grow as business implodes in their urban central area

  3. This is actually a solid strategy for anyone who gets sued frivolously or has false charges brought against them. Always ccountersue with more vigor.

  4. Sounds like a very typical Arizona situation. That state is such a hot mess politically and they love to eat eachother.

  5. i lived for 3 years in tempe, 2 miles from the runways of sky harbor. my lease had a clause that said i couldnt sue Sky Harbor for noise. the realtors were VERY CLEAR this was the approach path to PHX. I knew it too. I had zero problems. Todays engines are not nearly as loud as they used to be and unless I was outside or had my windows open, I didnt hear anything.

This lawsuit from the city of phoenix is baseless.

  6. Not often I disagree with THG, but Phoenix has never been a hockey place. Their poor attendance and lack of interest has proven that. I know there are hockey fans in Phoenix, but there are fans in Nunavut too, it doesn't mean there's enough to have a team there. There are plenty of cities that would love to have an NHL team and they would fill the arenas, so why keep trying to force the sport on a place that won't support it?! Also, the fact that hockey is not only the national sport, but the most loved and lived in Canada, and US teams out number our own by over 3 to 1 is downright insulting!
Bettman and his greedy friends only look at cities that have lots of MONEY to spend…not cities with people who will actually pay to watch games regularly. Hate to see any team fail or be moved, but if they are just sucking money from the rest of the league and no one is paying to go watch their games…MOVE THEM!

  7. Everything having to do with this franchise is such an embarrassment to the NHL. Everything. And you just know the Coyotes are winning this year's draft lottery, right?

  8. There was ample opportunity to present the Coyotes a site in Phoenix. There is constant competition among cities in the Phoenix Metro area for economic development, this one is just a little higher visibility.

  9. Phoenix could’ve made their arena better suited for hockey multiple times. Instead, it has too many obstructed view seats for hockey. So if they really wanted the Coyotes, they should’ve reached out during the whole Glendale fiasco. They didn’t and so now they need to stop this nonsense and let Tempe and the Coyotes get this done.

  10. Quebec is calling, LOONIES in hand. Pull this infected tooth of a franchise and let AZ dry up and blow away.

  11. Thanks for covering this story so many in the NHL media are ignoring. I'm happy to see Tempe fighting back, and think that while the dollar amount is too high the lawsuit is very much deserved

  12. The flames have a fan base though, not a fair comparison🤭. But sounds unfortunately like politics getting in the way of things.

  13. Phoenix absolutely has a history of this, this is almost exactly the reason why the Cardinals stadium is not in Tempe where it originally was supposed to be. Phoenix did also send flyers out to residents to be against this Coyotes project which does feel like tampering though I’m not at all well versed in law. My hope is that at the end of the day, this move by the team is a way to say to Phoenix “we won’t be bullied by you, let’s get in a room and talk this out and have no lawsuits going in either direction. Let’s act like adults.” But we shall see. It would be hilarious if the Coyotes won their suit and have Phoenix pay for the site but that’s not gonna happen. I think the two figure this thing out and it gets voted through but it’s the Coyotes so anything can happen at this point.

  14. Im just growing tired of every news we get about Arizona being bad. To the outside eye, it just looks like a big joke of a franchise even if this has nothing to do with the team management or whatever. This coupled with the team accepting all shit contracts with the arena as well, I don't understand how this affects the NHL in any positive way.

  15. " F**k around and find out"
Power tripping politicians need to learn the court of public opinion means squat

  16. 1:40 uh, Brian Burke very publically insinuated they'd move to QC if Calgary didn't play ball with the initial arena deal. And I recall it produced a significant amount of glee from Quebecois vultures on social media, as well.

  17. It’s gonna pass. Just have to cut through the BS first. Guarantee you I’ll be going to see a game there in the next few years. My wife’s family lives out there. We will be going to the new building. Bet. Too much money to be made

  18. Just looking forward to the vacuum after the Cup gets hoisted: perhaps you might consider ranking the games themselves as games. Then, offer a list of best games of each month, and perhaps 10 or 12 best games of each season. Then we could go back and watch replays of those games during the summer. Thanks for all your work!

  19. My guess is this has nothing to do with the airport and nothing to do with sports. This comes down to the on sports revenue from concerts and other events that will now be competelitively bid between two arenas down the road and down the light rail from eachother.

  20. Love the vids, but you sound like you’re on the coyotes/NHL payroll 😂 hockey in the desert doesn’t work, the Mickey Mouse organization needs to up and leave already

  21. Apparently Phoenix trying to bully Tempe is nothing new. If you go to the 98.7 radio station > podcasts > arizona coyotes > the March 30, 2023 podcast with Xavier Gutierrez, they talk about that and how ridiculous Phoenix is being. It's all about the money the want to make so Tempe can't.
