It’s harder to win games when every official is basically pulling a Tim Peel.
Wish these idiots could be fired for being obviously bad at their jobs and not just when they get caught on mic bragging about it.
I hate to be that guy bitching about reffing. But come on. Hedman had every right to be pissed and kuch should’ve just ripped a slap shot at the ref that stared at him while he gets his stick slashed out of his hands. Pathetic.
I know this game really didnt have any implications but if they cant win on the road (its been a struggle this season).. this team is not gonna last long in the playoffs. I hope Im wrong. Lets see how we do Tuesday against the Leafs.
I defended Elliot all season cause his stats were actually decent for the first 50 games but for the past two months he’s been hot garbage. I know part of that is the defense. But it will be great if bring up the swede next season. Start his grooming and get him set up as the next vasy.
Elliott is basically a goner.
Team as a whole looked off but who knows if that’s from being tired (probably) it not giving a fuck about anything but the playoffs right now (maybe both).

Elliott didn’t look great but man, our defense just doesn’t seem capable of breaking up plays or taking possession. That and turnovers.
Yeah Elliot probably should retire after his contract is up. He can’t be a reliable backup. He has one or 2 amazing games out of 5 or 6. Vasy deserves a solid backup during the season. We have had an issue for years finding a great backup they can get us points when we need them
Obviously have to hold judgment on this team until the playoffs, but if they go out early against the Leafs are not very competitive – the tear down needs to start this summer.
I love Elliot and have ever since he was with the sens, but it might be time to hang ‘em up.
Sign someone else next year and let Hugo fight for the spot.

The only good thing that happened tonight is that Jeannot’s injury isn’t as bad as previously thought
Well, Elliott forced the Lightning to open up the game, and they did, and ended up with four goals, which was not bad. But when you have to open up the game like that, you *will* give up opportunities the other way, and I’m not surprised that the Lightning were staying out of shooting lanes, not battling for position or punishing Senators for staying by the net, etc., which made things substantially worse for Elliott. I’m worried because the Leafs have one of the best rosters on paper of anyone the Lightning have had to play, but I’m not worried that how we’re playing is going to carry forward into the playoffs.
My main concern, really, is our depth scoring. I assume the top six will be like Hagel-Point-Kucherov, Stamkos-Cirelli-Killorn. All of those guys are doing well right now. Meanwhile, Nick Paul is on a 24 game goal-less streak, a 9 game point-less streak, and has has a goal and 4 assists in 29 games since the all-star break. Colton is on an 11 game goal-less streak. Perry (who occasionally played with the third line) has one point in his last 23 games. Eyssimont has one assist in 13 games since coming to Tampa. Jeannot had 1 goal and 3 assists in 20 games since coming to Tampa. Bellemare and Maroon have a little bit more and are probably close to what we should expect from the 4th line, but certainly not enough to compensate for a non-existent 3rd line. So, like, our third line has combined for 1 goal in the past 11 games and it was scored by a guy who might not even be there to start the playoffs. *That* is an issue.

Forget the refs, forget Elliott. 3 PPG = 3 shots off the 22 total. If all 19 remaining were even strength, that’s not good enough. Turnovers and no coverage (you have to have some coverage to blow coverage) ain’t a recipe for success.
