This has always been a disingenuous time analysis. The stop-start of football IS football. What happens between plays is important. Every play is a bunch of coordinated 100-meter dashes at once. Hockey’s continuous action is multiple personnel lines jumping on and off the ice. It’s like a series of 4×100-meter relays.
