I honestly think Petey doesn’t like public speaking (I’m not talking about speaking with the media after every game more like public speaking with the fans and sponsors) so he probably doesn’t like that aspect of doing the captain duties. We all know Petey will lead on the ice and he will be a veteran leader in that dressing room so if Quinn wants that responsibility that’s okay.
Edit to add: Even if Petey isn’t made captain, we all know he’s the “FACE” of the franchise. I mean just look at how popular he is with the fans and how much Canucks social media use his likeness on their social media posts to sell tickets. He will be like the Nate MacKinnon or Cale Makar in terms of both of them wearing the “A” and leading the Avs on the ice and in that locker room but Landeskog is the actual captain.
Hughes > Petey for captain imo. Gonna break some hearts here. Sorry not sorry

Give him the C to ensure he stays past his UFA expiry. I don’t see Hischier being stripped of the C or being traded away, so Quinn with the C gives him the one up on NJ having both of his brothers
Quinn Hughes deserves to be captain. he has my vote 100%
He committed to Vancouver the first chance he had, hes the best defencemen we’ve ever had, has no problem representing this club no matter what the scenario is, and been an elite star since day 1.
Already would be a better captain than Bo was. Don’t remember Bo ever doing this kind of thing.

I think Quinn’s parents have a lot of influence on how he speaks and acts today.
They raised their sons well, to be kind, polite, yet firm and stand their ground when needed. They all show signs of a true leader and a compassionate teammate and I wouldn’t be surprised if Quinn does get the C.
Would be awesome either way.
