The K’Andre Miller Spit Incident and it’s Effect on the New York Rangers

  2. Sjdillon10

Love what vally said. I was one of the better kids in my grade at street hockey. But i always wanted to play goalie because of hank

  3. Nickistheman22

zero confidence in our playoff run

  4. DonorBody

Gallant needs to sit Miller for the last tilt of the regular season. Kid needs to watch a game from the box and get his head together. Should have never seen the ice in the OT either. Was shocked he was out there.

  5. UpmostGenius

The vibe has just bring on the playoffs for a while now. I don’t think anyone expected to even be in a position to grab that number 2 spot

  6. KGX075

Holy hell, KAndre Miller will be fine. He was fine in the playoffs last year and he will be fine this year.

  7. FishermanDear8996

Panarin and Kane both have wrist shots. You’d think they would use it in a shoot out

  8. Grouchy-Power-806

Meh who cares. Just happy lindy seems ok. We can’t do this without him.

  9. vette322

Miller lost this game for the Rangers and ever since the spit – he’s been a liability. Not sure you can afford to play him in the playoffs – he seems lost.

  10. Krispyford

The way Carolina has played down the stretch, we really could have been first in the division.

  11. groovystreet40

Did Miller play at all after Buffalo tied it? I remember seeing a shift with Trouba and Mikkola

  12. Envelopen

0 shots in OT it was worse than I thought oh my god 😂

  13. KGX075

So for a couple years this sub defended #13 and #24 clamoring them to get more TOI despite VASTLY underperforming, but Miller (also aged 23) needs to be benched after a bad game tonight. This team, with Miller on 2nd pair, has 107 pts and is in the playoffs. Don’t change a damn thing.

  14. Livid-Screen2880

Guessing this means we can’t take first in the division any more? Can we even get second or are we locked into 3rd now? also, in what situation would the devils be able to take first? I’d much rather play Carolina…

  15. vette322

K’Andre Miller is the RJ Barrett of the Rangers. Maddeningly frustrating to watch, and always seems to be on the ice / court when the other team scores or makes a run.

  16. Gbeez22

That commercial with the dad showing his baby the Rangers players’ faces- I saw Tony D’s face there. I am questioning his parenting

  17. MarsHotelSouth

Was at the game. Overall not a bad effort. But why you as a coach, would put in 24 instead of 72 for the shootout is beyond me. Fil should have been out there

  18. yankeeuniverse

    Frustrating to say the least

  19. Henrazysed910

Good thing we’ve been a pretty good away team this year. Also I bet Ranger fans will absolutely take over the Devils arena

  20. jkman61494

Really on brand sadly that Carolina is choking and we manage just 1 point after blowing a 3rd period lead and basically just locked ourselves into 3rd despite being just 2 points out of first.

  21. Zuramaru29

Gotta keep Tarasenko at all costs

  22. ItsHeadbangerG

God such a stupidly frustrating loss it makes you wanna put your pillow in a chokehold.

I’m glad Lindgren is okay. Realistically I want him to be safe over winning a game that ultimately means nothing. Levi is legit. Buffalo finally has a goaltender they can rely on. They’re gonna be a problem in the Atlantic next year. Usually I’m one of the more pro-Miller people, but his recent play is more than questionable. I still like him, he has undeniable talent, we’ve seen it, but this year he’s taken a step back from where he needs to be, and I hope he centers himself and performs in the playoffs the same way he did last year.

The stars are gonna have to align if we want home ice. Here’s hoping the hockey gods pull through.

    See ya Thursday.

  23. Fancy_Combination436

Tbh we played an excellent game overall. Seems like the guys know exactly what their doing now (I guess except Miller needs to figure his shit out), which is by far the most important thing.

Idk how it would’ve broken down for us to get 2nd, but I got the impression it was slim anyways, and well play the same team either way. All things considered it was kind of heartwarming to to see Levi win, esp in a shootout. The kids barely in the NHL and already incredible. Everyone already knows Igors amazing, so its just kinda cool to see a rookie prove himself like that.

  24. PikaPika24_7

If we spin it positively, maybe Buffalo will be so fired up they crush the devils tomorrow.

  25. Livid-Screen2880

Seems like every time the rangers have a chance to pass other teams in the standings they lose. Starting to think that maybe the players just don’t really care much about the standings/who they play in the first round. I would think after this season though they’d much rather play Carolina considering their record against them vs the Devils.

  26. Key-Tip-7521

Vally said it right. This game tonight, meant more to the Sabres than the Rangers. While it’s a bummer the Rangers couldnt get the 2 points and another win, I give you my thoughts:

    1. Panarin shooting. Loved it, Vova’s pass on the 2nd goal was pure(chef kiss)
    2. Igor was Igor
    3. Yute Line/3rd Line/Kid Line, physical presence is gonna be HUGE whoever the Rangers play in the playoffs (devils or canes)
    4. Ryan Lindgren, deserved the Extra Effort award. Hell, they should rename the Purple Heart after this guy. haha
    5. Key… smh wake up bro. your turning into a turnover machine lately.
    6. Most importantly, no injuries occurred. Long term serious ones

Overall, the Rangers got the point. Eh whatever. If this was early in the season, i’d be pissed for a blown lead in tonight’s game. But most importantly, if your a die hard hockey fan(like me) or everyone else here, this is gonna be a battle of the ages for the final spots. Home ice, in the Metro, Central, but most importantly, the battle for the final two spots known as the Wild Cards. BUCKLE DUH F’ UP EVERYONE. It’s gonna be a crazy one. Kinda like game 162 in 2011 of MLB (well maybe not lols). I wish the teams in contention were playing simultaneously. Adds to the drama.

Anyway, as for the Rangers, onto the Leafs. Last one before the Playoffs.

  27. Kaapo-Taco

Everytime miller does anything, people rip him for it. Meanwhile Kreider is a ghost half the time and people say nothing. It’s unreal how good Miller is but he gets crushed for making a mistake in a meaningless game

  28. dcgirl98

Was at the game and it was a frustrating loss for sure. But we got 1 point out of it instead of nothing. Shesty did his best to keep us in it especially after we went back to the slow 1st period start. Overall not a bad effort but wasn’t our best. It was clear there Sabres are fired up. Most important takeaway: Lindy is ok. That was scary. Miller needs to figure out things. I was hoping for Chytil in the shootout before Kakko too. Or some kind of shake up to throw things off a bit from what they may have expected. Levi was fantastic to watch. He made some of those stops look so easy. Will definitely be rooting for the Sabres to shut down the Devils tomorrow. On to the last game of the regular season. See everyone Thursday against Toronto. Let’s wrap it up with a win! LGR!!

  29. NYJetsfan2881

    Me watching the shootout:

Kane: ok Levi comes out really aggressively, others will see that and adjust

Mika: Damn it Mika you’re supposed to be the smart one

    Bread: lol

    Tarasenko: FINALLY

Kakko: Did you not watch any of the previous 4?!

  30. AIC_333

I was sitting basically against the boards and boy was it rough watching Miller and Mikkola get absolutely worked tonight lmao

  31. TheIncredibleHork

    The Hork’s View from 222

    * To my homies on the 3C on the way in: you know where we going tonight! Even if it didn’t end how we probably wanted…
    * Ryan Lindgren as the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award winner is perfection.
    * Extra effort by the team? Not so much.  ***NOT THAT I’M WORRIED*** because grand scheme of things, the game doesn’t mean much. But yeah, I think you could tell the team knew this game didn’t mean much to us.
    * Buffalo, I’ll give it to them. They played their hearts out, and Devon Levi is gonna be the real deal in the coming years.
    * First period, whatever effort. They killed the penalty well, but didn’t put nearly enough shots on goal.
    * Second period was the Panarin Period. When Bread is shooting, he’s LETHAL. And that’s what we will need in the playoffs. Better period overall.
    * The attendant working the men’s room by 223-224, that man was a drill sergeant with demanding « NEXT.  WHO’S NEXT. » But goddammit he kept that line moving! My bladder appreciated it.
    * If I had to place blame on this game at someone or any particular problem, there’s two things. One, I think the defense was a little soft this game. Specifically, Miller screwed the pooch and it was his blunder that got Mittlestadt his goal. He’s had his struggles this season, maybe that’s a sort of good thing and keeps him very affordable for his next contract. **Though overall, still not worried he’s a bomb or that we should get rid of him.** Please don’t put me in that doomer camp.
    * Two, yeah we all wanted Panarin to get his hat trick, I had my hat ready to go flying, but at the expense of the win? Nah, fam, no bueno. However, I think the whole « This game means nothing » might have played into it and the boys just wanted to get him that hatty.
    * I am still loving the kids line, though. Chytil, 6 SOG, Laffy a BEAUTIFUL hit on Okposo, and Kakko still a puck possession monster. They’re hungry and they want it. They will be our key to going far in the playoffs.
    * Holding on in overtime was clutch. Took a *stupid* penalty but the defense and Igor really pulled through. That was some good grit.
    * I mentioned Levi, but how can I leave our Igor Shesterkin? We would be so boned without him.
    * But ***oh my God Lindgren stop blocking shots with your face!!!*** Trust me, using your face like that is not conducive to anything! Please be ok for the playoffs. Even if you need Thursday off, be OK.
    * Shootout… Vova had a damn ROCKET. But I might have gone Kreider for the following round.
    * I guess I should have stuck with my lucky Zibanejad jersey and not been led astray by visions of Kakko scoring tonight (and thus me wearing his number instead). I’ll take the blame on that one, fam.

So, a game that meant not much grand scheme of things to us and EVERYTHING to the Buffalo folks (including you, fellah in 222, Buffalo is NOT the best city or best *anything* for that matter) went south. My friends had a great time at their first MSG visit/ Rangers game, I’ll take that win and walk away.

But… I do hope we don’t fall into a laxidasical mindset with the playoffs so close. Need to keep a killer instinct.

  32. Juggalo_holocaust_

Buffalo did an amazing job of clogging passing lanes and getting their sticks in front of shots. Gotta give them some credit tonight.

  33. thedayofreckoning569

I think the biggest question heading into next week is Kane, and if he is going to play like a bum how quickly can turk recognize it and make sure to get him off that line (idrc what the combo is but at least one of the top 2 lines should produce every game in the playoffs)

  34. dr00bles1

Remember that Edmonton loss early this year when we blew a 3-0 lead and lost 4-3? Pepperidge Farm remembers

  35. mookyyyy

If there is anything to take from this game it’s that Igor is stupid locked in!

  36. Subrem_Doggo

They’ve lost to a college goalie, twice. Classic rangers

  37. xXDireLegendXx

We’re only losing so we can match the Knicks record. Nbd
