Loved to see the fight out of this bunch and the hope to make the playoffs but Garys Hockey Gods™️ sponsored by Draft Kings had other plans. Got easily one of the brightest futures and hope we can finish strong these next two

  2. deepfriedpoutine

    We finally heard the bell

  3. Mean-L

We lost. But I can confidently say I haven’t felt better about this team’s future in a damn long time.

  4. UncleOrton

Bummer game but this season was amazing as a whole. The future is so bright. Upgrade the defense in the offseason.

  5. AndyWest94

Well I guess it’s time to root against Eichel in the playoffs

  6. LuckyWarrior

In the arms of an angel 🫡

Love you dudes what a ride

  8. Own_Cartoonist266

    Thanks a lot Lindy. Geez

  9. CommaToTheTop

Boys left it all out there, Devils team defense and goalie were great tonight. Sucks given the circumstances but overall proud of this season.

  10. brown_and_water

I’ve got my Henrik Tallinder Devils jersey for the rest of the way. I’m in it for Lindy.

There is no bigger tool Donny has in his arsenal next season than missing the playoffs by one game this year. Every. Point. Matters. There are no off nights in the NHL. You want to go drinking until 4am? Remember how you felt missing the playoffs by one game last year? This is that game.

  12. billsfan417

Fucking sucks but it was nice to care about hockey on April 11th.

    Future is looking bright

  13. canintospace2016

They looked so tired man, Levi too.

Still gave a good effort though, the devils defense would not let up lol.

Now lets win the last two and finish stronger

  14. Well at least the Sabres haven’t lost a playoff series in 12 seasons.

  15. bolognabullshit

What a fucking season. Best team on the Ice in the Blue and Gold in over a decade.

I say they bring up some of those guns from Rochester to see some ice time.

  16. puffypigeon16

Man haven’t felt a gut punch like this with this team forever. I love this team. Bright future ahead and I can’t wait to celebrate with you beautiful bastards in the “Sabres clinch a playoff spot” thread next season. See you all Thursday.

  17. BARDLER

Hell of an effort, they outplayed them for the first two periods but ended up down because of some bounces that went their way instead of ours.

Can’t wait until next season when we have Levi the whole way.

  18. VGTGreatest

    I’m sad.

I love Devon Levi more than I love myself

    But I am sad.

  19. I’m still sitting here in the ESPN plus loop that’s telling me

live sports and live events and the exclusive home from the complete 30 to 30 library exclusive access top leagues and tournaments and the biggest names in the game ESPN Plus

I think I’m just going to listen to this for a while until the reality sits in that we’re not going to the playoffs this year and everything was a lie

Anyways Bills training camp opens in August I’m sure I’ll see most of you guys over there and if not I’ll probably be back for the draft but I think I’m going to take a little time off from the Buffalo hockey team this year to let this one fully sink in this one kind of hurts boys not going to lie .

This is pdb39 signing off until next season,

This was my 44th consecutive season season of watching this team fail to win the Stanley Cup

I’ll see you guys for number 45.

I love this team and all you beautiful bastards.

By October all the kids will have started growing hair in funny places which means we’re going to dad dick the league next year.

  22. sarcastic_man_13

Made it to game 80 playing meaningful games.

Not going to mention the obvious players that need to be shown the door this offseason, but I really hope they get new assistant coaches because the PK was straight up awful and the PP was meh even though they were technically top 10 this season.

  23. callMEmrPICKLES

Damn I actually feel kinda sad now. Been a long time since I’ve seen this team get this close.

  24. BUFBills_AfricasTeam

Updated list of least favorite teams:
    1. Leafs
    2. Bruins
    3. Canes
    4. Devils
    5. Flyers
    6. Sens

  25. ScotiaTailwagger

Eliminated with 2 games left in the season.

Not 2 months left in the season.

Enjoy the summer, Sabres fans. Next year is going to be fucking epic.

  26. TheFerricGenum

Playing two of the best teams in the league on back to back nights was always going to be tough. Especially when NYR play physical and fairly fast, and NJ plays fast as hell. Too much energy required, and a solid FU to the league for making us play back to back at the end of the season.

Still, I wasn’t sad with the performance tonight. Sad with the result, but the guys still looked like they were playing (for the most part). What I am sad about are the terrible losses we took this season. Losses to teams like Philly, Columbus, etc. And then the losses against NYI and FLA down the stretch when they mattered most. I want these guys to have those losses in their heads for the next six months. I want them to think about every shift they dogged it on defense, or got caught chasing so a seam pass went through clean. And I want those thoughts to be motivation for them so that when October rolls around, they’re absolutely streaking out of the gates. Playoffs should be a lock by the end of January.

  27. MYO716

It only hurts because it’s real. A full season of Levi and an actual full NHL defense and we’ll be back.

    And hells coming with us.

  28. One more post and I just want to say thanks to everyone that was friendly to me, sorry for those that I got banned, and I’m still listening to the ESPN plus thing.

Also I just want to say that the season taught me a lot about myself and taught me a lot about who I want to be so I want to thank all the fans out there today that were able to help me and coach me along the way to make me a better person I could not have done it without you. The best thing that happened this season was the friendships that I made along the way because I think I’ve made some real nice friends that will be friends for a while hopefully.

I’m going to go play a happy movie right now like three amigos.

  29. justbrowsin2424

Sad evening. BUT, time to turn my focus back on the Calder cup run for the Amerks.

  30. china-boy-tom

Alexa play Grateful Dead Brokedown Palace

  31. Sabres8127

This team will be better than the Miller era Sabres, we should be excited about that.

  32. BonezareTheirMoney

Imagine if we don’t lose 8 in a row next November.

  33. Sugarstache

Habs fan here. Bummed for you guys. Really wanted to see y’all steal a cheeky playoff spot. This team has such good vibes. GL next year.

  34. mlgamer500

Incredible run down the stretch. This is the most confident I’ve felt going into next season. Just wait for a full season with Levi.

  35. New-Row7111

Playing three games in four days against top three metro teams that are 30 points ahead of us was a tough ask but they still exceeded my expectations this year. Sadly that eight game skid in November, and giving up 7+ against Dallas, Boston, and Nashville in the span of a week all at home really did us in. The fact that we may finally finish with 90+ points this year just makes me so damn happy. A full season with Levi is giving me Ryan Miller vibes. Thompson and Tuch can be the next Drury/Briere combo (don’t quote me fully on that). Cheers to a 40 win season (and hopefully counting). For the first time since the 2014 tank I can officially say, the future is bright!

  36. Mr_Iron_Oxide

    That sucked.

But I’ll tell you what, the sabres made me happy quite a bit this year, with lots of long stretches too. They even surprised me a few times and made me jump out of my chair a few times too! It was a fun run! Thank you Buffalo Sabres.

Coming from a born/raised Sabres fan who lives 3k miles away, but was visiting for an early baby shower when pregnant wife gave birth EXTREMELY prematurely and now we live back here now even though everything we own is back in the other house with 4 cats Sabres fan. I see a lot of other Sabres fans coming in/out of a local hospitals NICU everyday. Having the Sabres play meaningful games while going through all this helped. Spread the love. They made me happy. 🙂

  37. Weird_Cartographer_7

Long time fan here. Moved away from Buffalo in the early 90s. After a long break from hockey (I’d check in now and then) returned to watching the Sabres this season. I’m proud of the boys and pumped for next season. Let’s go Buffalo!

  38. Apart-Prize-7612

Avs fan coming in peace, but the Sabres have always been close to my heart. I have absolutely LOVED watching this team throughout the season. I’m utterly gutted for you guys, even if it was an outside chance. Meaningful games right up until the bitter end. Your team has been joyous and I’ll be rooting for you going forward. You’ll have your (many) day(s) in the sun, guaranteed.
