    Totally fair.

Totally unfair – Neal Pionk’s little fine.

  2. the_old_gray_goose

    Now suspend that clown Pionk

  3. MNtherealChuck

bullshit. and Pionk just has to write a check for try to injure . NHL is a joke.

I still don’t see this as being worse than a 2min penalty. Greasy, yes. But if Hartman held the puck .25 seconds longer it’s nothing. Then you have a $5k fine for 100% intent to injure crosscheck with less than a min. Give me a break.

  5. essenceofpurity

Meh, take a break before the playoffs. Who cares

If this is a game, how did Reaves get nothing at all for his hit to the numbers?

Boy the takes from Winnipeg fans. Oof. Thought canada was supposed to be smart about hockey?

    Oh no…

Petition to move the Jets back to the way more deserving Atlanta

This is one of those plays that looks so much worse in slow motion. In real time it looks like Hartman quickly got rid of the puck, saw an on rushing Ehlers, and stopped to brace himself for the hit or hope that it changed their collision course. It was a bang-bang play from when the puck left his stick to when Ehlers was hit. Hartman had no choice but to assume that Ehlers was going to try hit him in that moment. In slow motion, I think it’s pretty clear that Ehlers was going to be content just skating past Hartman and back checking, but the players don’t have that benefit on the ice.

Anyone started a Go Fund Me for Hartman’s fine?

  12. Uffda01

bullshit – its a reverse hit as Hartman is protecting himself from Ehlers just steamrolling him

Sometimes it feels like the only reason they do this stuff is to prevent retaliation. These decisions are never self-consistent

Geez this sub is Wild. Hartman’s suspension isn’t surprising. He’s become a bit wreckless this season. It’s a one game suspension and game 82 doesn’t matter.

  15. fastal_12147

Meh. At least he’ll be back for game 1. He probably wasn’t playing tomorrow anyway

  16. EverlastingThrowawy

    Let me get this straight.

The player who got two a two minute minor for interference is suspended.

The player who got a five-minute major and was ejected for a cross check with intent to injure was fined.

    Got it.

How was it any different from the finished hit on kap literally seconds earlier. That was a no call and the jets basically targeting kap most of the game?

The NHL is becoming as big of a joke as the NBA.

  19. pastromi13

It’s warranted, Hartman shouldn’t have done that. That being said, Pionk should have been handed the same suspension. However, I feel like Hartzy has shown more of a « goon » side lately, and I wonder if that came into play. I don’t know enough about Pionk to know what level of goon he is.

💯 this was a penalty and a dirty hit. But a suspension is a joke – there were a dozen worse plays in last nights games alone that were worse than this.
