Je suis curieux de savoir ce que vous pensez tous. J’aime vraiment l’idée de construire à travers le repêchage même si cela peut être exténuant et difficile à regarder. La doublure argentée pour moi est de regarder ces jeunes gars prendre leur envol et de porter le maillot dès le début. Je pense juste que si nous avons suffisamment de tirs dans le top 10, les talents d’élite viendront. Les meilleurs prétendants à la coupe semblent avoir 1 superstar à chaque poste sur des contrats à long terme, puis 2-3 autres attaquants étoiles, un autre 1D et un bon G de sauvegarde à moins que ce ne soit Vasy à Tampa. Je suis plutôt d’accord d’être patient pour trouver nos superstars locales, mais curieux de connaître l’opinion de tout le monde ?

Feel like it’s really understated how bad Holland was at the end with drafting and how screwed we got in the lottery. Being able to pick a Hughes or a Stutzle this team would look very different. Also Ken missing with Zadina, and Veleno. And I hate to say it because he’s quickly become one of my favorite players, but picking Ras over Suzuki or Vilardi is looking rough too and again, we’d look very different right now with any of those guys being our 1C/2C/ with Larkin. I think that’s why I’ve been looking at the rebuild restarting with Yzerman.
Edit: I wanna add that it’s totally possible Ras has a breakout year and turns out to be just as good of a pick as the other guys I mentioned points wise. And if he does he’ll be more valuable with his size. But only time will tell
The Edmonton Oilers are a perfect example of why you don’t just hope for continued lottery luck and hope for the best. The Wings will not move forward on this route. Say what you want about Erik Karlsson, but the guy had 20 or so less points than our entire defense corp combined. And trading Hronek was another mistake because he’s 25 and still had team control. If Yzerman makes a play for Karlsson, your RD for the next 5 years at least is EK, Seider, Hronek. With Edvinsson coming in, Walman coming into his own, and adding a veteran as your 6th, that’s a pretty stacked D corp. That’s how much a roster can change with just one move at getting a bonafide star.
Before the inevitable complaining about the paywall, couple things to note —
– The Athletic is currently running a sale for $1.99 (which they do almost constantly) if you want to still support more in-depth journalism, albeit for less money than the normal asking price.
– That one chrome plugin that allows you to bypass paywalls does work on The Athletic. I’ll leave the plugin nameless for those who don’t know what I’m talking about and in fairness to the Athletic’s writers and those who do pay for a subscription.
– The Red Wings subreddit has a button in the sidebar that allows you to filter paywalled articles out of your feed.
