Drance does Drance, more at 5.

  2. grandlinegooner

Does anyone really care what this guy has to say anymore? Everyone knows why the team is bad, we don’t need some goof trying to go viral everyday by rehashing the exact same talking points for months and months

    Good. He’s right

Wins for moral was Benning bullshit that we had to deal with. Unfortunately here we are again winning down the stretch after inexplicably hiring a new coach mid season.

breaking news: local man enraged over sports team, suggests they would win if someone smart like him was in charge

  5. overthisbynow

Don’t worry guys this is all gonna pay off next season when Aqua gets his sweet sweet 2 playoff games revenue

  6. rajde1

I’m not sure what he expects at this point.

As a life long Canucks fan since the 80s I’ve been hurt a lot, but I’ll be optimistic this summer and see how we do next year. I like what I’m seeing and I remember us barely missing the playoffs in game 82 just before the West Coast Express came into fruition.

Canucks had one of the weakest schedules and their starting goalie returning. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out they were gonna win games.

Drancer is like a one trick pony with this being his only thing. What did he want? Trade Hughes and Pettersson? Hronek played 2 games and made no impact. Even if Bruce was still coach they would have won games with Demko returning to form coupled with a weak schedule.

We get it, you wanted a rebuild. It’s clearly not happening, move on to some other content or commentary.

Hot take: our record since the coaching change 19-12-4 would’ve been right about the same under Boudreau.

That was baked into the schedule and almost guaranteed by Demko coming back.

The only way we aren’t a >.500 team over that stretch is if you traded a bunch of guys away at the deadline. They did drop Horvat, Demko was still hurt so he was off the table, and it sounds like they tried to trade Miller.

Lots of speculation about Miller. Hard to say if that is the critical failure of our FO this season. But after his strong performance to end the year it would be hard to argue his trade value has gone down.

Not really sure what Drance is so upset about, this team is who we thought they were. Our defence was still shit even after the coaching change, nobody is trying to argue otherwise.

Telling a coach not to coach and players not to go out and win is kind of impossible.

Management shut down injured players, the coach played rookies straight out of college. They still won.

They just weren’t a team bad enough to finish at the bottom, no matter what Drance or anyone else wanted.

Well, he’s 100 % right, and has been saying the same thing all year.

Drance is a baby don’t care or think much of anything he says

  13. TheOdiin

Love Drance, he’s definitely my favorite media guy

  14. Lmfao what the fuck do people actually expect?

A team with a top 5 centre, D and a top goalie when at their best to just go out of their way to fucking lose? Omg guys if Hughes got 2 minutes less ice time per game this team would just lose like 5 more games easy!!!!11111 They’re overplaying our stars to win meaningless games!!!1111

Good god. Yeah guys, honestly should’ve just traded both Hughes and Pettersson along with Bo. Nothing at all matters other than getting draft picks. You can’t do anything else in this league. If you’re not a top 5 team then there’s no point in ever doing anything than constantly rebuilding. You know we only have countless examples of the last decade plus of teams where the whole do nothing but draft high doesn’t do jack shit. It took Edmonton only getting the 2nd best player to ever play the game to become competitive, and even then it took them several years to finally be thought of as a contender, finally, this year, 8 years after drafting McDavid.

Both Pettersson and Hughes have gone on record saying they want to win. They don’t want a rebuild. So I guess management should trade them so we can hopefully maybe get players of their calibre (top 5 in their position) in 5-6 years, which is what it’s been since they’ve been drafted. Yes. Sounds like an outstanding idea and definitely will not cause a perpetual rebuild scenario like so many other teams have had happen!! Just perptually rebuild until it works guys!!

Just trade Miller and Kuzmenko. Who fucking cares what our franchise players think! They definitely will want to stay if we trade 2 of the best players on the team. Lmfao.

It’s so fucking easy to just say on paper to trade players. Just do it it’s so easy. Because there is no human element on paper. There is no actual thought to what goes on inside the building of a team.

I have to fucking laugh that people saying playing Petey and Hughes for a few minutes less per game would magically mean they get 7-10 less points lmfao. Did you watch our PP1 down the stretch? Nah probably not, probably here to just doom post. Hockey isn’t basketball. If you seriously think Petey and Hughes getting 2 minutes less ice time per game equates to 5 more losses, then I have a fucking gigantic bridge to sell you. This is a team that had iced 2 rookie D men straight out of college, iced Brisebois and Wolanin and Juulsen and still kept wining lmfao. But sure, if only Hughes got that 2 minutes less ice time. We would drop from 6th to 8th in the lottery, cause as we know, this team has never ever gotten screwed in the lottery.

This thread is too fucking funny. If only hockey was on paper.

The year is 2045. The Canucks have just barely missed the playoffs by 5 points after a mid season replacement with newly hired head coach Connor Bedard, who is fresh off retirement after a hall of fame career with the Chicago Blackhawks, which included winning 5 Stanley Cups. Elias Pettersson has also been hired as a skills coach after his excellent career with the Canucks, which included one playoff appearance and multiple 100 point seasons. 10 year veteran GM Brandon Benning believes the team just needs a retool on the fly to break its 25+ year playoff drought. Francesco Aquilini’s end of year letter to the fans promises of hope for a brighter future and believes our young pieces are ready to win now. The mid teens first round pick is rumoured to be on the table for veteran RHD Erik Gudbranson who has defied all odds and continued his career well into his 50s. Season tickets sell out quickly after fans believe in the plan and think this year it will finally turn around.

Some of our media are just the fucking worst. I wish they’d leave and move to Toronto

Drance has the demeanor of a 7 year old that didn’t get it’s candy.

  19. ClosPins

Ummm… Winning down the stretch and building a winning culture got us Olli Juolevi instead of Auston Matthews. And then we were god-awful for many years after that. Also worth pointing out that tanking got Pittsburgh a whole bunch of Stanley Cups.
