@Oilers d'Edmonton

  1. More like the Oilers rejected him only offering Skyler an AHL contract… lol

  2. He was a mediocre flier pick in 2017 who would have went undrafted if his last name wasn't Brind'Amour.
    He's an average height player with a slighter frame who, at 23, has never really produced at a promising rate in the NCAA. He'd need a few years in the AHL at minimum (probably not even cracking the top 6 down there), and even then he likely never cracks beyond a 4th line in the NHL.

    If he doesn't want to play in Edmonton, in the AHL, or if he just wants to play for his dad. That's fine, he's a grown man who's never going to get another shot at this. His choice.

  3. A talented kid looking to make a NHL lineup has the least chance making Edmonton's lineup. So why would he want to come here and be locked in the AHL.

  4. I think I speak for the average Oiler fan when I say, who?
    I only know he isn't the former Flyer player's son who pushed a wheelchair down the stairs.

  5. Liam said “He’s essentially Zack Hyman who’s a little bit taller” ?? Haha we wouldn’t want a guy like that?

  6. It's not great to lose any college draftee, but the likelihood of Brind'Amour panning out isn't high. But just to add a little bit to the discussion, John Marino was a decent prospect we lost for nothing. Also, Schultz I'm pretty sure (I haven't looked it up) was an Anaheim prospect who signed with the Oilers. So it's gone both ways for the Oilers.
