Top six scored 66% of goals this season. They need clear help in the bottom six and outside of Letang the defense is laughable. Jarry needs to go as well

The team as a whole wasn’t good enough. Not enough finish in big games, could never hold a f’n lead, not enough clutch saves, bottom 6 is terrible. We would have been embarrassed by Boston if by a miracle we made the playoffs.

Honestly, the Penguins haven't actually been all that good for the last several years. They've lost in the first round the previous 4 years, and outside of last year, those series weren't that close. They lost 2 series to the Islanders (8 games to 2 combined) and technically didn't even actually make the playoffs in 2020 when they got beat 3-1 to Montreal in the "qualifying round". They've basically been holding on in middling territory for the last few years, and this year they were just middling enough to not make it. Honestly, if they don't make some really big decisions and wholesale changes, they're going to stay a playoff bubble team at best for the next few years until Crosby retires. They really are at the point where it would make a lot more sense to hit a big reset button. But, as a market, Pittsburg doesn't respond well to that. In the 2000's before they were gifted Crosby and Malkin, their attendance was in the toilet and there were loud calls to move them. I'm sure that management is aware of this and is likely to not want to do an actual tear-down.
Jarry is awesome, put a half decent defence in front of him and he will do great things, he's a 2 time all star by 26 years old and people talking like they just plucked out the ECHL lol

Well we all should know, none of the core players will be traded. Crosby, Malkin and Letang.
The Penguins are an older team. Their goaltending in my opinion is not the issue. It is their offense and defense. Call as it is !! Sub par defense and average offense. Nothing that the Penguinis has is worth watching out of the O and D.

No changes are coming. They should trade Crosby for building pieces. He only has a couple seasons left and there's no reason for him to waste anymore time in Pittsburgh
My best guess is Hextall and Burke are both shown the door. I have no clue as to who replaces them.
The Penguins need another goalie to share the load with Jarry or perhaps they acquire a starting goalie if one becomes available. Can they entice Vancouver to part with Demko? The price would be pretty steep.
The Penguins also need upgrades in their bottom 6 forwards. More speed and grit.
They can get back in the playoffs next season if they address these needs.
