As he should. I wouldn’t want him to trade Cutter but anyone else he should at least listen on. None of the veterans NEED to stay. TK is great, unless we jump up to 1-2 id move him. If you get one of the top 2 then you need someone for them to play with. Otherwise he doesn’t fit the timeline. Hart Is a tough one and I wouldn’t move him unless you’re blown away but everyone else it’s not even a thought, move them if you get their value. Frost can go for the right price. Tippett should stay, Cates should absolutely be in the long term plans as a stalwart of the 3rd line. Foerster looks like he could be a real hit (small sample size though). Desnoyers, Brink, Zamula, Attard should all be on the roster next year replacing higher priced higher profile vets. They should have at least 1 more 1st and a 2nd this year + 1-2 more firsts over the next two drafts IMO after offseason moves are made. Embrace the shit out of the rebuild, go all in and see who of these kids can play. Pick up some good prospects in a D heavy draft in ‘24 and then in ‘25 be ready to spend a bit and supplement the roster which will (hopefully) have 3 top 5-10 picks at the top of the lineup.

Keep Cutter, Frost, York, Sandstrom, and Errson to name a few.

JVR is gone so there is that money. Can they trade Hayes? Is Ellis going to be an anchor that keeps this team down for the next several years by not playing but getting paid? And what about Atkinson and Couturier? Can they still play?

5 years away from being 5 years away.

    Nothing ever changes.

Unless they dump torts I don’t see many players wanting to come there. Lots will want to leave I bet.

Does he include himself as an asset?

Interim tag lasted a bit over a month. Why bother with it? He hasn’t had anything significant to do as GM since he took over lol

We’ll have to wait and see after the NHL draft lotto. If, and that’s a BIG if, the Flyers secure the #1 pick, Briere has a golden ticket. He could get a king’s ransom or trade down to the second spot and get rid of some bad contracts & pick up some prospects.

All of the GMs have money, but they get the job and have a glow up and get tailored suits and a $500 haircut

Konecny should be one of the only untouchables unless he requests a trade. Same with Hart.

They’re both undervalued because of their surrounding team. Not likely to get a good enough return to justify trading your potential future leaders.

Edit: leadership is important, even during a rebuild. Without leadership, you end up in perpetual suck because the talented players you do acquire will want to leave

I saw that Briere wants to move up in the draft if they end up at 7th, I am not sure how thats possible. Can’t see anyone in the top 4 trading back in this years draft and doesn’t seem worth it to move from 7 to 5 unless Michkov is there.

If that’s the case. Hayes, Provorov, TDA, TK and Hart won’t be here start of next season.

It would pain me to see TK or Hart get traded. Especially Hart. But If your going to rebuild the right way. You gotta get assets for your high end pieces, and those two have the most value.

    A perfect representation of Philadelphia

I get everyone is concerned with the cap situation, but drafting and cultivating the prospects should be at the forefront of this “new” regime. We cannot have another Shane O’Brien pick. It’s not fair to the player and definitely not fair to the org. We have to hit on 1st round picks. If we make a trade for draft capital, I will be happy, but the league knows our situation, so I don’t expect the ea sports be a gm trade negotiations to occur.
