I love this. Just hope in addition to practicing faceoffs, he conditions really well so we see him all 82 games next season.

Yes, this is nothing but great news. Helps our C position and frees up a spot for the glut on the wings.
Not sure it’s the best long term if we actually develop a true 1C but it would be awesome just for next season if it works out.
Patty playing in the middle makes the top of the lineup way more fluid. I’m interested to see if he can make it work
Is Laine going to stick as a center? Probably not.
Is him being serious enough about it to improve on face-offs, defensive assignments, and play interchangeable on the ice a good thing? Yes.
