The 2 wide open Kreider goals are inexcusable. You didn’t learn from the 1st time??
Ouch I was on site for that. And a lot of you people left us to endure ranger fans trying to turn our building Into the garden by out chanting us. And you left ? Win or lose … we support our team ! Btw. I scored a bunch of towels. Saw people here asking for them. Hit me up. If you want one. And tell me why you should get it. If you’re out of state. I got you
On the bright side, Mercer was working his ass off and for a 2nd year NHL player, seemed less nervous than Palat, Haula or Tatar.
Boys gotta focus on getting the first goal on Thursday. It’s great being the comeback kids and I’m sure that’ll serve them well at some point. But the Ranger’s game plan is clearly to collapse in their zone, block shots, and play low-event hockey and score on the counter-attack and PP with their skill. That doesn’t work as well when they don’t have the lead.
Well I fought two rags fans walking out of the rock cause the cop told me it was okay. Fucking dweebs. Lost my vape but kept my dignity
Guys I hate to say it, but that was suboptimal.
Sad playoff loss Wendy’s isn’t as good
Being at the game, every single loser in a rangers jersey is everyone who has ever cut me off on the highway
Did we just witerally wose to the wangers on a wuesday night?
That was fucking hard to watch.
Shout-out to Kevin Bahl for bringing it tonight. Great first game. Jack wasn’t perfect but gave it his all.
Rest of the team (besides Nico) was lifeless. Need a response
Game 1. The kids were humbled. 4 wins incoming
The rangers played so close to us all night. I turned on the end of the TOR/TBL game and it’s crazy how much more open ice there was just in the little bit of that game. Rangers came in with a strategy obviously and it worked, Devs need to counter attack on Thursday.
Rangers had almost as many blocked shots as devils have shots on goal, that is insane and hopefully not sustainable. Flew in the for the game and leaving tomorrow at 5am but might need to talk my fiancé into letting me come back for Thursday.
Vitek was bad, special teams were atrocious, they didn’t battle hard enough. When they finally did have chances, they couldn’t get it on goal. They’d either whiff, hit someone, or miss the net. But good news is the rangers won game 1 last time and it ended up ok. Wood is a waste of a roster spot, just let Luke play LW next game.
Does bratt really deserve a huge mega contract?
The powerplay always feels like it slides back into bad habits of putting players in positions of weakness or being overly predictable.
Wood needs to be scratched. The guy is a liability to the degree he helped put us down a goal with 3 mins of playing time. Vitek is a giant issue likely, and the PP just getting shots on net at this point would be a giant accomplishment.
Are the rangers still considered a washed up veteran team. Haven’t followed hockey the past couple years and my buddies giving me alot of crap rn and can’t think of anything to punch back with without mentioning this
Vitek has to come up big Thursday. He wasn’t good enough today.
Jesus every road team tonight scored the first goal in Game 1.
Devils fucking HAVE TO get the first goal on Thursday
Looks like the rangers followed the bruins blueprint to beat us. We need to adapt and be better.
Mood: drinking until I don’t have feelings anymore and then drinking until I have feelings again
For real though, the special teams was the difference. As soon as we got the early PP I had a feeling it was going to kill our first 7-8 minutes. But as pissed as I am about the result, I thought we played reasonably well given the utter lack of experience, and mildly outplayed them for large chunks of the game but completely shit the bed on special teams. If the Rags manage to block that many shots next game I’ll be more concerned, but I don’t think they’ll be able to keep that up and also get the puck luck of having that many hit them. Also I was encouraged that we started to play around the block heavy defense, though it was a little too late.
Jack was definitely feeling the moment early on and tried to do too much, but still managed to work some magic. I thought Bratt was excellent defensively and in supporting the puck all over the rink, but couldn’t get much going with the puck – probably because Jack was turning the puck over on zone entries so much. Nico gave a good effort but really needed to bury one of those point blank chances. Timo really isn’t finding much at even strength and I wish for once he’d just go full freight train on a net drive instead of peeling out.
Marino and Graves I felt were really strong at 5v5 but leaving Kreider wide open twice on the PK is not acceptable. If you don’t put that guy in a straight jacket he will find a way to score from his office.
I posted a few games ago about how Hamilton doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, on that scrum vs Columbus. It was cute in a blowout regular season game against Columbus but I loathed seeing him stand around aloof in the middle of the Mcleod scrum doing absolutely nothing. Need to see a little more intensity from the big guy even if it’s just grabbing a body and holding onto them.
Interesting to see who plays next game. Lazar hasn’t exactly been great and I don’t think physicality was the difference. Sharangovich theoretically gives us more of a scoring threat but he doesn’t play as gritty of a game as Wood.
On to the next and fuck the Rags.
I support all the growing pains of this team but we cannot let the Rangers gain anything at all, they can do whatever happens but the Rags need to be humiliated
We have home ice, so we need to change up the match ups.
It’s pretty obvious block shots, broken plays, overloading top players (and some bad overall play) was what cost us the game. I think the key to fixing that is to match up different lines and see if players can’t deal a bit better.
Anyway, put it in the past and move forward.
PP either needs more movement to work passes across the ice or to just keep setting up Dougie bombs but this isn’t going to cut it. I thought Siegenthaler struggled and hope Bahl moves up if that continues. Loved Nicos game and everything he brings, hopefully that will include a goal in game 2.
I refuse to take this coach seriously if Wood is dressed for Game 2. I’d scratch the entire fourth line. Put in Sharangovich and Luke and play 11-7 for all I care
Thank you nhl for the fake penalty to prevent the shoutout
Yeah I was there at the game tonight and am thoroughly depressed and don’t really wanna discuss what needs to happen for game 2 because the answer is clearly ‘everything’
I got to meet Quinn Hughes though and took a pic with him before the 3rd so at least I have that to hang my hat on.
I was there tonight. So incredibly disappointing . Sick as a dog trying to root for my team.
A lot of fans here (and for the most part rightfully so) have been calling for Wood’s benching for months. I’m starting to think Miles has some compromising pictures of Lindy or Lindy’s wife. I can’t think of any other reason why he continues to play. Yea I know he brings some speed and grit but these lazy offensive zone penalties are absolute killers. The penalties outweigh the speed and grit IMHO.
How about get in front of Igor fucking face and create some goddamn scoring chances there. I’m so sick and fucking tired of the Devils bs passing instead of shooting also. To add, no one is EVER on the corners of the net to put in the rebounds. Awesome PP tonight. 0/4 and ZERO shots lmao. Inexcusable.
If Brock Faber can have a pivotal role in his 3rd game in the NHL, first in the playoffs, so can Luke. Quit being a chicken, Lindy. It’s probably your last chance.
Timo has no business being on the 3rd line, and i’m fuckin sick and tired of Palat taking his spot on that 2nd line. Move Timo up Lindy! You fuuuck
I hope the boys got a chance to just sit and talk to each other in the locker room for a bit without the media hounding them. This is fixable, they just need to adapt to playoff hockey and the pressures that come along with it. Most importantly, they need to keep believing in themselves, their teammates, and their team.
Imo, if there was any win for the Devils out of tonight’s game (besides Jack’s penalty shot goal), it was Nico’s game. The other guys need to match his mentality and motivation because he was playing to win. One of the strongest games from him I’ve seen in a long time🙌🏼👏🏼
Welp….it’s game 1. Plenty of playoff hockey left. They’ll make the adjustments and smack the Rags down a peg next game. We were seeing some flashes of it in the second period, albeit with nothing to show for it. It’ll be alright. I still believe!
Scared to watch these post game interviews. I hate seeing all of them so sad and defeated 🙁
Tatar – Nico – Timo. Bratt – Jack – Mercer. Fuckin try it
Rebound. Win game 2. This team has had no quit all year I don’t expect them to quit now. This team needed a good punch in the face to remind them this is playoff hockey. That was embarrassing, but that’s why we play 7 games

Tonight peaked when I met Colin White in line for a beer at the FanFest, and offered to buy him a beer…
…. only to get to the front of the line, and find out the ran out of beer by 6:00.
All downhill after that
That was a rough game to be at but I have faith that the boys will turn it around.
Was a little disappointed with all the Devils fans who left after the third and fourth goals. Made the large contingent of Rags fans in the lower bowl that much more obvious :/
First game jitters I guess… I still say Devils in 5
I didn’t like the part where the Devils lost.
Just got home from the game. Only thing I can say is that sucked and I didn’t enjoy it
We need Schmid for the next game.
On the one hand — that was ass.
On the other hand, I’m trying to enjoy that we’re in the playoffs at all. And that this is the last year before “real expectations” set in.
I feel like we played well in spurts. We did well keeping the offense up in the 2nd… went a whole 12 minutes without giving the Rangers a shot.
I think Igor Shesterkin is seriously a big part of the reason the Devs had such a hard time. They definitely had good looks, but Igor shut the door quite a bit. Just gotta keep peppering him.
Nico was putting it all out there. Love him.
Graves had streaks of great and streaks of shit. Bahl looked good.
Wood looked alright, he had hustle and he wasn’t taking shit from anyone. I like having a loose cannon like him who you aren’t sure if they’re going to pop off and knock someone out.
You can definitely tell who the playoff veteran experience guys are. They played hard, took licks but gave back some. I liked how we didn’t back down when they barked. Now it’s time to bite back.
Give us Schmid.
