I mean, it’s what people have been saying/guessing/hinting at since January. Treliving publicly made comments about wanting the young guys to play more. Sutter took veiled shots at Treliving during post-game conferences where he’d question the depth and composition of the team. Anybody who thinks differently is just in denial.

Sutter in 2003 – saved the franchise

Sutter in 2023 – killed the franchise

    Time is flat circle

We’re in for a looooooooong ride

  4. Hey guys, maybe he’ll sit on the tractor all summer and figure out a creative way to gain the offensive zone and get the guys to put pucks in the net without playing mind games and sucking the fun out of the room.

I mean, I sure fucking hope this happens because this shit got lame this year and trying the same nonsense again clearly isn’t going to work.

Revolutionize the damn game or just stay on the tractor, good sir.

I just can’t see them bringing Sutter back. Like how would you?

Treliving didn’t get along with him and it’s widely known most players had a great relationship with Tre. Francis even mentioned there will be people leaving the organization now that Tre left.

The players clearly didn’t like him, and the talk from Maloney about the player exit interviews being longer than normal is just suger coating it. Barnburner straight up said there’s player who said I’m done if Sutter is back.

HOW DO YOU POSSIBLY BRING HIM BACK?

New GM might be good, if him and Sutter don’t get along then there’ll likely be a coaching change. Lets hope they hire a good GM.

  7. MissionIncredible

So does Tre get announced as the GM for the Penguins or the Capitals in the next few weeks I wonder?

  8. Accomplished_Skin_22

Is Sutter still coach? I got the vibe everything is still up in the air

Bringing Sutter back is a mistake. We need to move on from him

Can’t wait to see what garbage 4th liners Sutter trades Huberdeau and Weegar for!

Calgary can not be a desirable destination for any GM candidates after the 2 year variety show that has been the Calgary Flames. Add in the events of the last few days and can’t imagine any top GM talent will be interested right now.

So when Brett Ritchie got shipped out of town at the deadline, I made a comment saying maybe this is BTs message to Sutter that he needs to play some of the other guys.

I’m only now just realizing that maybe Sutter sending Nick Ritchie out during the shootout was his fuck you back to BT… would match up with his shit answer about why he chose Nick that spot.

  13. TheThatNeverWas

I always figured Sutter used Ritchie in that last shootout as a dig at what BT acquired at the deadline.

    Friedman tells us nothing.

When he prefaces with « It is believed », that means he’s not actually sure and either he or sources are sharing what they believe, not what they heard.

Of course this poster spins it like the be all and end all, because it fits his narrative.

Is it possible? Yes. Probable even? Sure. But stop spinning beliefs as fact.

Bring back Tre in 10 years as coach!

Time for the fans to show edwards Sutter needs to go. Stop going to games (this part is easy in the sort term) and stop buying merch until ownership gets the picture. Don’t renew season tickets with a clear message as to why. As long as Sutter is in the arena fans aren’t. I wasn’t happy about Sutter being named coach to begin with but after last year’s results on the ice it was hard to argue it wasn’t a good decision. One year later and it is a dumpster fire and this is after decades of mediocrity. If my man Lindholm walks because of Sutter this could be my last year as a fan.

Dark days ahead boys, I’m guessing Tre probably had an ultimatum along the lines of Me or Sutter. The org chose Sutter…. If Sutter is back next season, I’m not watching.

  18. blockwatch

You hired him and then you extended him. Get back here and clean this mess up.

  19. SauronOMordor

Literally nothing about Sutter screams « narcissist ». Fuck are you on about???

He’s hard on players and has an old school mentality that may not work with the modern NHL, but by all accounts he is a very kind and genuine person off the ice. Even his behaviour as a coach isn’t narcissistic. He’s just stubborn.
