They definitely have goaltending speed and in your face defense. You could be right. I still don't see them scoring timely goals and their power play is average. If Palat gets hot like he did 2 years ago in the playoffs it could happen. He has scored so many playoff GWGs it's insane ⚡️⚡️⚡️
As a Wings fan and a MTU Graduate I was so pissed when Randy McKay had to go to the Devils for compensation for Troy Crowder. So happy he beat Detroit in 1995 and brought the Cup to Houghton Michigan. Ken Holland made some stupid moves but was lucky to have Hasek fall into his lap too 😂.

It would be a huge nostalgia blast if the Devils win the cup. It's been 23 years since they last won it. They play fast and exciting hockey. Will I be mad if they got knocked out of course not. Their still young and needs some time to develop they're skills

The team will succeed as far as he can push
The Devils need to take advantage of the Rangers lack of rush defense. NY is going to try to limit space & be more physical but will still give away odd man rushes and rush chance shots. They are 27th and 30th in these categories. That can not be ignored. 5 v 5 & the rush/transition offense is the Devils bread and butter. If NJ can limit the penalties, NYR will have their hands full in this series.

My Devils are NOT winning the cup this playoffs lol. The main issues the goaltending. Once we get a goalie, then the skies the limit.
First of all, good jinx video since they won't win it all now. 2nd, the goaltending is too inconsistent to make a far run. 3rd, Bruins will take eastern conf easily. 4th, special teams is average at best. 5th, the Rangers alone could be a good enough match up to eliminate them. 6th, for over half this roster it will be their first playoff experience, and experience does matter for deep runs.
And yes, I'm gonna say it, I'm a Devils fan so I dearly hope to come back on here in a couple months and eat humble pie. But following this team since '91, I know when they got it all to make a run and when they don't. This is not their year.

You nailed it bro. In 2012, no the Panthers weren't as solid as the rags are now but I remember telling everyone, if we win that Panthers series were going to the cup. The first round in a lot of ways is actually the hardest to win, but if you do ESPECIALLY if you face some adversity in the first round, it usually instills a major level of confidence that can often push a team to the Finals. This year, more than ever with all the hype that the rags have received coupled with so many picking them to make it to the cup since last season/summertime, if my Devils do indeed win the series just as you said, WATCH OUT!!!
The Devils outplayed the Rangers in 3/4 of the meetings in the regular season, with Vanacek outplaying Shesterskin in 3/4 of those games. If the hockey stays somewhat clean, NJ takes the series in 6/7 games.

devils seemed to play well against good teams so im hoping that holds true going in to hte play offs where ALL the teams are good. esp in the east.
