The Leafs don’t get swept. This is nothing new.
leaf fans react to how the team plays. If leafs lost in OT first game they would not be saying that.

Leafs fucked themselves with all the penalties in game 1.. they even almost came back before going of the rails.. but the team didnt look completely out played that game.. a bit more puck luck… no bunting stupidity we might have even won that game
game 2 though.. we dominated Tampa at points.. This is the LEAFS we have all been waiting for.. IF I am Tampa.. I would be worried.. they never dominated us like how we dominated them for half of the 2nd period… this Leaf team is scary good.. and you cant just beat us up anymore either.
I am exciting about game 3.. lets do this

That’s hilarious, but honestly? I blame the Leafs more than the fans. It’s like mocking an abused spouse for having crazy mood swings when you dismiss what the abusive partner have been doing to them for *decades*.
Well I guess it’s less funny when you put it that way, but if you just look at the fan reactions in a vacuum it definitely is hilarious.

I live in Edmonton, and all day I’ve been getting people saying this to me unironically.. non-leaf fans seriously have no idea what’s going through our minds… we’re depressed still, we lack confidence… check in on your leaf fan friends – we are not okay.
