That was the worst goalie interference call on Parise instead of interference or roughing against the Cane player, who shoved Parise so hard into Raanta & that set up the 5 on 3 for the Canes… Then when the Isles should have been given a 5 on 3 they said Barzal – who was crouched over before Burns' crosscheck – embellished somehow, so that was at least 2-3 goals against or taken away from the Isles, Martin probably doesn't get annoyed & takes that penalty at the end of the 1st but he does & then the Canes could just trap for most of the game when they were up 2-0
The officiating for most of these games has been making things really uncompetitive & it is clear what team they want to win
I've been supportive of Lou as a GM, but there's a trend emerging here that isn't great. He's put himself in a corner where his core is beginning to run out of time, and significant changes are needed. The team needs to get younger, faster and more dangerous. The Isles need to stop being impressed with the grit of their fourth line (an anchor that doesn't produce enough offense). Also, parting ways with Trotz seems to have been a huge miscalculation. Varlamov should be moved out to clear cap space. (You don't need two No. 1 goalies. Or at least not two who are paid like starters.) If you're sitting Bailey in the playoffs, obviously he has to go. And some of these "glue" guys in their 30s need to be reconsidered. The Isles just look sluggish. The Canes are a lot more physical than their reputation suggests, but they're just buzzing around the Isles.

So many empty seats…..did NYI fans leave in the third or did they just expect Canes were going to win anyway? Ive never seen fans so quiet when their team is losing in the playoffs. Thats the worst for the players lol. Even their own fans dont care unless they are winning.

Islanders embarassed us on Friday, but we did good today. If the Islanders wanna win, they really oughta quit playing dirty. The PPs they give up are killing them, and they killed them in the reg season games with the Canes too.
