Good. That hit needs a serious second look. 2-3 games

  2. KrasnyRed5

Makar should have been ejected for that hit.

  3. _MMCXII

Three games is too few. If we took their leading scorer out we’d be banned for life. Eject the sack of shit into the sun.

  4. yousayh3llo

If it’s two games, that could be the rest of his playoffs.

  5. ReleaseTheKraken45

Makar should be suspended for every game McCann misses.

  6. Slacker_75

What he did was arguably just as bad as what Bunting did. 2-3 games at least. Fucking bush league hit

  7. Lumpiestrocker

The pessimist in me is thinking it will just be max fine, but I truly think it deserves a 2 game suspension.

  8. Olbaidon

    Everyone calling for 2+ games?

Means it’s gonna be 1 game or a maximum fine.

My guess 1 game, **and** only because they want to protect Makar.

1 game gets him back in the playoffs, gives Seattle some semblance of justice, and allows Seattle to cool down a bit and gives Makar some reprieve.

If this was the regular season I bet Makar would get nothing at all.

Credit to the league for possibly doing the right thing, but I don’t think they’re doing it for the right reasons.

Gotta be at least a game if it being called a minor doesn’t affect things. Should be 2-3. Anyway… fuck em up and end their season, boys!

Sorry to be an ultra pessimist but I don’t see any chance of Makar being suspended. He’ll likely just get fined, the NHL never punishes their superstars for real.

    Hopefully I’ll be wrong though

No way I expect anything more than a fine after the way they handled it last night. That was a disgustingly dirty hit and the league should be disappointed that’s “allowed” to happen to anybody, regardless of how important they are to the team. I’m very frustrated that the consequences have not matched the action up until this point, and likely still will not after this hearing.

  12. UU_WildBoy

I fully expect just a fine unfortunately. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised and they give him a game or two

Funny to see them defending the hit in the Avs sub. They really believe “it wasn’t that bad” and we had no reason to boo Makar the whole night.

    Good.

Fuck that hit. The GDT thread on /r/hockey was full of Colorado homers « explaining » how it was a good hockey play and bragging that Seattle fans just didnt know because « they’re new to hockey »

fuck off with that, it was dirty as fuck and deserved 5 and a game

When and where? Need to show up with pitchforks and signs.

Have they done away with burning at the stake? I feel like that might be a worthy punishment…

  18. seataccrunch

Can we suspend Rantanen as punishment??

  19. Crazy_King_Bumi

I’d be surprised if he gets more than just a fine. Fucker should be out the rest of their playoffs, so 2 games

To me, it seems like the refs were late with the whistle, allowing Makar to get a shot in. Puck clearly sails into netting. Refs were as laxed as McCann was thinking “play is over.” Makar can use the defense, that he played to the whistle vs knowing the play was over and took the liberty to hit McCann. The elbow into the neck of McCann is the need for the suspension/discipline vs the timing of the hit.
