Larkin I give a B+. The last half the season would be an A, first half a B-
Hellburg I give a C-. Decent in 5 on 5, but shootouts and breakaways he was weak. Didn't move with urgency and made some puck handling mistakes.
Lindstrom I give a D. Passes were sloppy, not a big hitter, spent too much time following the puck around, and not in position to break up plays.
This was a random mix of players. I have Larkin an A-. I felt there were some big games he didn't show up for, but was fantastic the rest of the season. I thought you were a little hard on Hellberg. I give him a C- based on expectations. Lindstrom was not good. I give him a F. I'm not sure he ever added anything to the line up when he was in, and most of the time negatively impacted the team.
Not one player on this pack of cowards deserves anything more than a C.
Lindstrom was really really bad. He did nothing to insert himself in the lineup and countlessly would find him giving up the puck or blowing an assignment. Not sad to see him go tbh
Could we get a griffin review?
Lindstrom had a few games he looked alright, but most of the time when he stepped on the ice I severely cringed as he would cough up the puck from a hit or a bad pass. I think he would fit better in the SHL or KHL? Red Wings must move on from him.
My grades?
Larkin: A. The dude did his best to put the team on his shoulders and carry it across the finish line, and left his heart on the ice every night, and that only seemed to become even more apparent after the contract extension was signed.
Hellberg: C-. It's clear that he was a backup-backup plan after he started getting waived during the season, and hadn't really been given a whole lot of opportunities on the other teams he ended up on. I can't say I'm pleased with his performance some nights, but it's really hard to throw Hellberg under the bus when there were a lot of other issues in front of goalies this season.
Lindstrom: D-. With that bottom pairing spot open and just begging to be taken, it's a mystery to me why there was no effort from him to take it and solidify his spot on the team. If the story from Expressen is true, I hope he finds what he's looking for in Europe.
Great episode, for me personally Larkin deserves an A- or B+ , in terms of his points – obviously a great season. However, he was physically present in some games, but not mentally. But I have a feeling he'll crack the 100 point mark next season.
Hellberg was absolutely lost in parts. However, the D was not always the best and as a backup goalie I would give Him a D.
Lindstrom had some games that were "okay", but more than an E+ is not in it.
