I personally think that Makar’s suspension should last exactly 1 game longer than Canner’s injury. I hate the idea that a « good guy » can go out and X someone out of the playoffs and then come back a game later themselves. Seems unfair.
Besides, I hate basing disciplinary action on whether a guy’s got a good reputation or not. Seriously, it’s like saying « Yes, I know little Johnny got caught kicking puppies but he’s such a sweet boy normally, this isn’t like him at all! » Then you fast forward twenty years and sweet boy Johnny’s got a lovingly curated collection of women’s heads stored in his freezer, y’know? It teaches the wrong lesson.
I don’t CARE if Makar’s « not a dirty player » or « has a good reputation, » he willfully cost us our leading scorer, probably for the remainder of the playoffs, and all he gets is a single game to rest? Fuck. That.
