Antti Tuomisto and Anton Johansson are the highest rated right shots with some runway left in Detroit’s system. Barton is an RFA this summer and Berglund and Plandowski have until June 1st to sign, but haven’t yet.
I do think Stevie needs to turn some of these LD prospects into serious RD prospects.
Personally expect Anton Johansson to make a big jump next year. I was able to catch a few of his games last year and I don’t think many expected him to play as many SHL games as he did. While the production wasn’t there this year he still played around 20 games that’s pretty good for a 18 year old who was drafted in the 4th round. He’s got a really good frame and skates well for his size. Has a good active stick and doesn’t get as lost in the d zone as previous Swedish d prospects. I think there’s real potential he makes it in a couple years.
