Seattle is far more motivated atm. The Av's look tired.
Just look back to that 7 game road swing by Seattle earlier in the schedule. They went in to Boston and handed them their first home loss of the season. They also ran the table on that trip and did it the same way every game. Ron Francis is easily GM of the year. Well done!

I've been both impressed and stunned by what the Kraken have been doing, according to The Athletic, they were even longer odds than the Panthers of advancing past the first round.
They still have to win another game and who knows what happens after that but a VGK, Stars or Canadiens-type surprise run to the SCF isn't out of the realm of possibility.

It wasn’t an egregious motion, but an action resulting in a trip must be called. Especially when they called that weak interference penalty when the Kraken player stuck out their knee to initiate contact with 37.

Assuming both teams commit infractions at exactly the same rate is a major stupid take. May as well not call penalties at all then if they all are supposed to even out.
“Just let them play” doesn’t work when they aren’t even handed in their officiating.
Especially when one team is a clean and fast team vs a greasy grinding team. Nobody should deny these are the styles and the penalty minutes through the year show that. Different styles that are more physical results in more calls, and finesse teams less.
No it’s not the worst officiated series ever. But the calls Seattle has gotten breaks on and the calls Colorado has gotten bad breaks on have been more than enough to change the entire complexion of this series.
I personally would've liked to see them put Shane Wright in the lineup in the absence of Jared McCann. I don't think it would've been a bad idea to give him some NHL primetime and see how he fits into the high-pressure playoff atmosphere. However, the Kartye decision is strong and overall worked out, so I can't really criticize.
Well, I'm a Habs fan rooting for the Kraken. The old Nordiques rivalry. I would enjoy seeing the Kraken go as far as they can.

Seattle can definitely go on a run if they manage to get the upset. They've played well against the Wild and Stars in the regular season.
To be fair to the Avs they don't have 1/3 of their top 6 and their best defenceman. But kudos to the Kraken, would be wild if they knocked he Avs out

I KNEW this was going to happen. Nobody wanted to hear it. "Avs in 4" I heard. "This is playoffs, Kraken can't win" I heard. Well lookie here. We beat them in regular season consistently and as I predicted it would come through in the playoffs.
I am really enjoying Seattle Hockey. Been super impressed all year by their team hockey
This is kind of a hot take but if Seattle can make it past the avs I genuinely think they can make it to the WCF. I kind of disagree about what you said about Dallas/Minnesota wanting to give Seattle a gift basket if they can finish what everyone else in the west is hoping for. If Dallas/Minnesota is smart, they’ll see what Seattle did and won’t take them lightly because if they think Seattle potentially beating Colorado is a free gift to the 3rd round, I think they’re gonna be quite caught off guard
I really don't know why people are so shocked. When Mason did not come back in the third period, it meant the Avs were missing 27 million in player cap space. Show me any team in the playoffs that wouldn't struggle with that.
That being said, the Kraken should be proud. That team is playing with heart. That goal for Tyke Kartye reminded me of when Makar scored his goal on his first shot in the playoffs. Great memory for him and the fan base.
I do wish they would just come out and say what happened to Nichuskin.

As an Avs fan, it's disappointing, they've been plegued all year by injuries, they should be winning this series. But I'm also very happy for Seattle, what a story!
