Simply my opinion: A big part of the problem with this team is that their top stars don't seem capable of playing at the 110% that is required for the playoffs. Sure, there's been a couple of moments, but I just don't see the type of effort from Matthews, Nylander and Marner, that should be given this time of the year. What I'm looking for, is to see them push themselves so hard each shift, that we can clearly see intense grimaces of pain, simply from their effort; are they too laid back? Relying too much on their skill? I certainly don't have the answer lol, but push push push!
The thing is, Holl typically plays his best hockey AFTER being a healthy scratch. What is Keefe waiting for? Should have pulled him out last game to light a fire under his ass.
Was Holl around when Babs was the coach? I can’t believe he isn’t buried in the minors or playing in Europe. He is not an NHL calibre player.
I’d they can dress 7 defensiveness, why not try 5 defensman? Put ROR on the back and pinch.

Thank you and I must agree with Steve. that matching the fans in anger or whatever I can see being difficult My heart has been taking out of it I can't get excited even when they are winning, if they lose game 6 i'm done with the Leafs after 50 years. I"m starting to like Florida with Tkachuk who we should have traded mathews at the draft for the 4 th to get him to play with his memorial cup magician partner Marner. (I called FLA to beat Boston too). Boston Suck lol :)) its my blue blood talking. I had more fun watching FLA play game 6 than i have a Leafs game in years and FYI Matthews was the worst player on the ice last game NOT HOLL a monkey could have scored his goal in that game and he didn't even register a shot in the second period You can't win playoff games like that as the second best player on your team after Marner who has carried this team all season. And of course our Amazing Captain JT. Keefe lost me in this series as well. Time for a comeback!!! There is no game 7 this is game 7 we don't need to see if we can win after another loss because if its like me, The fans won't be around for a 7th game its not worth the watch and emotional involvment even if we did win.. You can't get excited bc all your thinking about is when the next big let down will be Sorry guys its just where I"m at, its been quite brutal this last decade .

Feels like Keefe has been letting the media determine the lineup. Bunting should have been in the lineup last game, as their 5th best scorer. ( none of Tampa’s top guys scored last game it was all middle six, bottom guys ). Also give gio a rest, hug is 39. If you don’t have a 7th or 8th d man you can trust then you’re in trouble. Just seems Keefe is scared to make adjustments

Never thought I'd say this, but Vasilevskiy is the only reason the Lightning didn't win this series in 5. The Leafs really need to change something, as you really can't expect Vasi to be that bad again.

Holl has been awful! The pinch that lead to goal one was excusable. The second goal was Holl just not moving his feet and Samsonov choking.

I already despise Bettman and can barely stand any of the refs not to mention the teams that thrive on the cheap tactics to win. The refs not making correct calls helps those teams and the teams that are more skilled and play by the rules more often (because no team is perfect) will absolutely f*cking lose every single time. You only have to look at the last 3 Stanley Cups for proof, talented teams that play cheap (grabs, mini holds and stick work). The NHL is a pathetic league just for their non-calls alone. Playoff hockey my ass!!

Honestly, the Leafs are lucky that games aren’t decided exclusively by who plays better. Because if we’re being brutally honest, the Leafs have only been the better team overall in a game once(Game 2), every other game you can realistically say the Lightning have been the better team. Obviously things played out that fell the Leafs way(the comebacks in 3&4/Vasy looking abnormally human), but really until those comebacks by the Leafs, the Lightning were in control of those games up to that point.

Keefe has been out coached every playoff series. He has a great team and in the regular season they win on pure talent. The playoffs when only good teams and coaches are left, Keefe loses the battle every time. Anyone could get to the playoffs with the leafs talent being behind the bench. When it comes to a chess match, Keefe is still learning how to play checkers when it comes to coaching in the playoffs
I've been saying it for the past seven seasons. The Leafs give up more neutral zone and defensive zone giveaways than any team in the league. More unforced errors than any team.
Maybe start with that.

Holl is the worst top 6 Dman Leafs have no question. Unfortunately he is still better than any of the Leafs depth Dman. Also it's not smart to play a player who hasn't played all series in the playoffs. Don't listen to these clowns. Holl is a better dman than Liljegren all day. It's on Keefe to manage lines better. Holl is a bottom pair play him appropriately. I still wouldn't play Bunting till round 2 dont play stupid kid. Leafs in 6 is what I said at the beginning of series. Let's go!!! GLG

Kerf doesn't give us enough of anything in the lineup we have in a game we need to bring the heat. Bury holls minutes, play him on the PK, Gio and Lilly are a great pair 5v5.. let's go Shelly. I love u please do this or something of the sort
I picked Leaf's in 6 myself and I still think that's at least a 50/50 chance that happens if not more. I think that game 6 being a road game actually helps, they have to travel etc so there is less time for the self destructive mind games that still seem to be a major factor for this team. They have the chance to shut things out and just be the better team tonight. I have said from the start though if this gets to 7 games I do not see the Leaf's winning it. For those same reasons, there is just way too much time to let the nerves build and build waiting for that last chance. I really would love to see them get it done, Tampa has been great for too long now. Cant have anyone having a off night tonight, get it done.

The reason why the oilers are good at 11/7 is because they rotate mcdavid and Draisitle as the centres. So you take a decent 3rd line and rotate mcdavid in as the center, it turns into basically another second line. The problem is that Keefe doesn’t wanna play Mathews and marner 25+ minutes a night which the oilers are more than fine doing
Leafs have played lawsy overall in this series, yet somehow are up 3-2, when they should be gone already. Holl is a convenient scapegoat, what else is new. It rained all day yesterday, I'm blaming Holl for it. Except for 3 new guys O'Reilly, Knies, and Acciari, rest of the 9 forwards not putting out enough. Maybe the core just doesn't have "it", not in their DNA. You have to hate losing in order to do what it takes to win. I don't get that sense with this so called core. They lose this series, might be time to start the dismantle, including Matthews, who wants to go to LA anyway.
Bet the house on Tampa winning game 5 6 and 7. As a leafs fan this is how you win happiness no matter the outcome
