  1. Kostin was a BEAST tonight… 3 points +3 and he played under 9 mins.
SO happy for Yamo to get the SERIES Winning goal… he was so snake bitten all series and just couldn't finish his Good chances… until tonight!

  2. Korpisalo didn’t realize that Yamo’s shot went in the net. He threw his blocker at it and thought it went wide. He actually moves to his left to cover the post thinking that the puck is coming out the other side. He didn’t know until he saw his teammate’s reaction.

  3. Kings were hammering Yammo at any chance they could get because he's an easy target due to his size. Some might even argue they were trying to seriously injure him. Yammo certainly got his revenge against all those cheap shot hits the Kings threw at him the entire series. Congrats to Yammo and big congrats to the Edmonton Oilers. Long live the Edmonton Oilers Dynasty.

  4. Kinda sloppy, but the Oil overcame everything, and that's a good sign. Think Draper, McCarthy, Maltby. Great teams have heros throughout the lineup.

  5. Non call on the Kane high stick and non call on Skinner getting hit in the trapazoid. After tonight LA is the second least penalized team of all 16 playoff entries. Off to Vegas with Vegas being the least penalized team after 82 games this season.

  6. Connor only got 2 points ~ he must be injured. Only 10 points in 6 games ~ What's wrong with Connor? why do they keep playing injured Connor? lol. ~~~Hart ~ Ross ~ Rocket and another perhaps? Pearson…

  7. A great series. LA played very well. So did EDM. Nuge-Hyman-Kane-Yama may have to play a bit better the 5mil men.
Bottom6 a great series & Kostin !! Great to get the win. Thanks for the PodCast.

  8. This was just the crucible series the Oilers needed to really mesh together. The Kings played a great game.

  9. The legacy of MacTavish still remains strong. Draisaitl, Nuge, and I believe Nurse? All MacT picks…

  10. Sure is hard to argue against Bruce most times. He points out things that I don't notice… I check it up, and sure enough, always turns out to be true.

  11. Bring on the Knights! Who only finished first because of the Bettman point system.
Using the IIHF standing point system (3 for Reg. time W, 2 for extra time win, 1 for extra time loss, 0 for reg. time loss), we'd have some important changes in the playoff bracket and home ice advantage (pls point out any errors, I’m not an AI):

    EDM: 45-5-9-23 > 154 pts, Conference leaders

    VGK: 38-13-9-22 > 149

    DAL: 39-8-14-21 > 147, Central leader

    COL: 36-15-7-24 > 145

    LAK: 37-10-10-25 > 141

    BOS: 54-11-5-12 > 189

    TOR: 42-8-11-21 > 153, third overall

    CAR: 39-13-9-21 > 152

    NJD: 39-13-8-22 > 151

    NYR: 37-10-13-22 > 144
About their finish to the season, VGK had 5 of their last 10 games go into extra time. In effect, the NHL awards bonus points to both teams that don't get it done in 60. Anyways, another worthy opponent coming up.

  12. Maybe try McLeod with Nuge and Hymes.
Despite his lack of impression on 5v5 so far, Nuge is one of the 3 core players on that PP.

Sixth and final game of the series. We had a lot happen in this one including a goalie broken stick (on Skinner of course because I mean it's the Oilers) that leads to a tying goal (easy one). Yamamoto getting the game winner. Klim Kostin with 2 goals playing under 9 minutes of time. Broberg playing under 4 minutes (complete waste). LA with a shortie after a breakdown during the second PP the Oilers got in the game (they scored on the first one so they were 50% on the PP tonight which actually brings their PP level in the playoffs DOWN, yeah, I know, something is kind of wrong when 50% on the PP isn't as good as you normally do). We were really winning the faceoffs. The LA selection of three stars is pretty much a crock. I'm sorry, yes, Leon had a fantastic game playing over 27 minutes (Connor did too) but come on, Klim Kostin with 2 goals and an assist (and that assist was on the game / series winner) and he gets no love from LA (probably as they would have won the game if he wasn't playing). A lot less hits by the Oilers in this one. Couple of days in LA to rest up then on to Vegas to begin round two. Take care all.

  14. I am not an Oilers or Kings fan….but this makes the Oilers radio team even more embarrassing than they already are….. thinking the NHL rather see the Kings win than the Edmonton McDavid's…is psychotic

  15. I am still confused about the standard of officiating in these playoffs, unless the standard is that there is no standard?

  16. Nurse made that clear off Kempe one handed leveraging his stick against kempes leg…that was a nice play that stuck out to me at the time…

  17. I don’t understand how kostin gets so little ice time in a game where the second line was way worse than any of the “fourth liners”

  18. I thought Korpisalo really got way worse as the series went along. The oilers scored a lot of grade b/c goals in the last 3 goals.

  19. I thought David’s analysis of Leon playing a complete 200 foot game was spot on. He’s dialed in. Love the big German.
Leon was playing 2 way tonight.

  20. I thought Bouch had a good game. He was doing things that people usually complain he doesn’t do. Closing on guys, hitting, taking hits, staying focused, etc.

  21. I was thinking the same thing as David about Nurse. I was thinking, You’re going way too deep. Just shoot it in! But it worked out. I guess as long as your teammates cover for you…. It’s all good. It’s a team game!

  22. Nice analysis Bruce.
Imo the second line will rest up, get healthy, and come alive.
Just a flurry of comments by Johnny Eastside😉

  23. The obvious superiority at 5v5 and the 21 – 16 powerplay differential (Kings PP's vs. Oilers PP's) shows that the Oilers had to beat both the Kings and the refs. This series wasn't as close as it would seem, or at least it shouldn't have been.

  24. I really like you guys, and I like when you have Kurt Leavins on but PLEASE don't have a series preview with the 3 of you. You had one 2 years ago and the Oilers were swept by Winnipeg. Then you had one last year and they were swept by Colorado.
Don't do it. Have Leavins on mid series if you bring him on.
