If you watch full Canucks games from back then, Bure probably only converted on 15-20% of his chances max. It’s insane how often he’d create opportunities out of nothing, if he’d had an elite center in his career he could’ve had an 80-85 goal season, maybe more than one. His last year with the Canucks with Messier, Naslund, Mogilny, Linden, and they all couldn't get the job done together. And Mike Keenan blew that team up. Maybe if that roster had a playoff run Bure may have stayed? John McCaw took for granted what he had, especially firing Quinn. But the memories before that were epic

With all the focus people put on his skating and stickhandling its easy to forget that he had an elite shot as well. Very few players have ever been able to skate at his level. Even fewer where able to control the puck the way he did. The amount of players who had those abilities with a world class shot on top of it? Can probably count them on one hand. Fedorov is the only guy I can think of off the top of my head.
