  1. Dumba did not deserve to advance. I don't care what the NHL thinks, he was trying to injure Pavelski

  2. I love how the narrative is "The Wild were hurt and couldn't compete" ….meanwhile one of the best Stars players gets BLINDSIDED in game 1 and knocked out for the series and they still rolled them in the last 2 games to close it out, The better and more complete team won..simple as that. Roope is making a statement these playoffs! Let's Go Stars!!

  3. As a Stars fans, screw the wild fans. They've been absolutely horrible. I'm sure there are some good ones, there always are, but just like their coach, they couldn't take responsibility for their own actions and blamed everyone and everything else.

    You underestimated Dallas. Period.

Our special teams was better, period.

Our depth scoring was better, period.

Oh, and our 5 on 5 game? Guess what.

With Otter in the pipes and this coaching staff obviously fitting well with this team (a struggle we have had, though I think Monty was good for us, despite his alcoholism at the time) and the talented depth on ALL lines….

Well, I'm confident we will be in the finals this year.

Have fun playing golf, Wild. Maybe your fans will learn that sport, because most of them don't know jack about Hockey.

  4. Another first round exit. Nothing new for us. You just hate to see it keep happening again, and again, and again. The Wild's motto for these playoffs was "Grit First". But I think we forgot something. GOALS needed to come first!

Whether we played with grit or not (which was debatable at best for us in this series, injuries aside), you simply cannot play over 100 minutes of playoff hockey (between games 5 & 6) without scoring a single goal. That is simply unacceptable, inexcusable.

And now, like you've said, we're in even deeper cap hell for the next 2 seasons. I think it's time that we just face facts. We're not getting any better and sitting in limbo while trying to pretend that we're playoff contenders year in and year out just isn't helping us to improve. In my mind, there's only 1 solution, it's time to just blow it up.

Trade off the entire roster for top 10 draft picks keeping only the young guns and the core (Wallstedt, Spurgeon, Brodin, Kaprizov, Eriksson Ek, Gaudreau, Boldy, & Rossi), tank for the next 2 seasons while letting the new young talents develop, and then hopefully we'll have some kind of resurgence in 2025-2026. Again, in my mind, this is the only good option.

Because if we just keep middling between being good, but never actually good enough, then we'll never truly develop into a championship contender. We'll forever be a day late and a dollar short, muddling in the quagmire of mediocrity. We have to stop kidding ourselves into believing that we're better than we actually are, and just be honest. But again, that's all of Minnesota sports in a nutshell for you.

Oh well. Thanks for another decent year Wild. Go Twins!

  5. Dean evason coaching record in playoffs. In WHL he was 10-24 in 6 appearances. In AHL 1-12 in 4 appearances. In NHL 8-16 in 4 appearances. He needs to go. But I'm a Stars so please keep him employed Guerin.

  6. As a Wild fan, I am gonna make this brief (trying to protect my mental health from Stars fans trolling me).

This sucks and is frustrating, but I know that one of these days things will turn up. Lots of talent on this team and in the system to work with. Especially once the cap clears up soon. Evason might need to be removed for being undisciplined. GG, see you next season.

(Also Dallas your revoke from mocking the State of Hockey. Exhibit A is the Lakeville Boy slowly becoming the Next Best Goalie).

  7. Yeah as a blues fan the only central division team who I have a soft spot for is Minnesota. Those fans up there love their hockey and they get let down repeatedly. Damn shame

  8. Good commentary. To me it boiled down to frustration getting past Ottinger. Once that set in, they were gripping their sticks too tight and started missing passes. The effort was there (on the ice) but agree the swap in nets for game 2 was a bigger factor than we thought.

But, we are used to it. As someone pointed out post game, since the Twins title in 1991, MN teams have made 50 trips to the playoffs with absolutely NOTHING to show for it. It's what they do.

  9. As a Stars fan, totally agree about Kaprizov. He wasn't ready when he returned. I really like Kaprizov. He's a fun, dynamic player. Give Miro some credit for keeping him contained, but I think he was still hurt.

  10. Not actually on topic for this game…but I think I've seen at least three games in these playoff games that the refs ended "early"…with 3 or so seconds left to go. I understand that this has happened during high emotions and pushing…but I don't remember in the past that ever happening. Not so 'often'.

  11. The league wants what the league gets. Kirill after the suter cross checks was hurt. The refs killing the wild confidence that's what happens when refs control games for another team. The wild have been getting screwed by the league since Jacque lemaire. Refs turning on the wild is what happens when yah talk shit about them.

  12. Pete DeBoer outcoached Dean Evason the exact same way he had two seasons ago with Vegas.

  13. The turning point in the series wasn't the goalie switch in game 2 it was 🦦 's brilliance in game 4. The Stars fed off of that and won 3 in a row to close out the Wild.

  14. It's sad how predictable this was. As soon as game 4 was over I knew that history would repeat itself and yup, I was right. Just endless suffering

  15. The wild didnt get out of their own way, didnt stop the PP opportunities. If you get a bad call, hold some composure and stop the PP with a kill. It aint that difficult. Every team has injured bodies. The wild had the opportunities to win. They also lost big twice at home. can't do that. if its a squeaker sure, but these games were decided early. Head coach needs to be considered. The wild have less cap space than everyone else with the buyouts. Billy made a great team with what he has. Nyqvist should have played with Kirill. Nyqvist was our best player. Next year is gonna be rough.

  16. This one hurt. We peaked early whilest avoiding injuries. That caught up to us. Then the refs made some mistakes as well, but that’s hockey. Brock Faber looked great!

  17. The wild won the first game and then got cute in the 2nd game. They could of taken control of the series…that's on the coach

  18. I thought that the main thing that got Dallas the win this series was the power play. When you play a rough and tumble style like the Wild do, you have to be able to kill off penalties. The Wild reminded me of the 1999 Stars team that won the cup, except that their penalty kill wasn't effective in this series. If they fix that, then I think that they will be cup contenders.

  19. You should do a whole video on the current state of the Minnesota Wild and their struggles in the postseason and what they can do to improve.

  20. Sad Wild fan. Congratulations to the Stars. Good luck the rest of the way.
Yvonne, the State if Hockey is with you in your misery today. Next year!

  21. I was a high school exchange student in Minnesota 1990-1991, when the Northstars got to the finals. No disrespect to the Wild, and condolences to my Minnesotan friends, but Hintz is on fire, and although I wouldn't follow a franchise that moved away, Heiskanen, Lindell, Hakanpää..

Yeah, you guessed it right; I'm a Finn rooting for the most Finnish Stanley Cup winners, so TB or Boston or Toronto aren't that high on my list right now.

And basically I just love good playoff hockey.

  22. Fleury should have started last night. He plays great in elimination games. Would have given the Wild a much better chance to extend the series.

  23. That stars jersey is my favorite. The stars look like they are gonna hard to kill. How bout that slick hintz goal in the 1st

  24. the wild just seemed gassed n deleted after game 4, it wasn't game 2, it was like they ran in2 the brick wall which we show find ourselves in each time we take a series lead, time 2 cut garb and save up to try n sign natthews in a year, I'll take a losing season over dis stuff na time

  25. What's even worse about Minnesota is they're close but still never good enough to go all in and they're locked into so many bad contracts with term and they never learn…..Foligno is making over 3 million, Boldy is on a 7×7 next season, it's so irritating every season but I think that we need an Anaheim season to justify gutting the team and completely rebuilding because retooling for 15 years isn't working!

  26. Only Dallas could win a series and the guy reviewing the game talks more about Minnesota than Dallas.

  27. Minnisota past vs future in hockey format lol. Was the "green" series where as tampa leafs were the "blue" series.
Ugh as an avs fan i was kinda hoping minni would get the W 😂 😅 well its dalas again in round 2 oof 😅😅😅

  28. I think the Wild lost the plot during game 4 and 5. I understand being physical, but they seemed to be more focused on hitting and getting revenge for something rather than winning. Foligno was more of liability with his obsession with Marchment.

  29. When will any Minnesota sports team have a playoff run in modern times? That’s all i’m asking
