Hudson was a lot of fun to watch this year but this needs to be a <1 million AAV contract. If it is, happy to see my boy back.
In an off-season where we’ll need to make hard choices, he made this the easiest decision.
Worked his tail off, showed some upside, and will be a talented, cost-effective bottom 6 wing. What’s not to love?

Here’s my hot take, Fasching is the same player Dal Colle was, he just had lower expectations because he was a minor league FA instead of a 5th overall pick.
Before everyone kills me too much on this, I’ll clarify that I really liked MDC in a bottom 6 role. He did everything right, he just had zero puck luck.

Could this be the one time there is an actual consensus amongst islanders fans? I don’t think I missed a game since he joined the team and he never took a shift off. He deserves the security and I’d take a fourth line comprised of three of him.
Really praying this wasn’t just a peak season. I know nothing about stats, maybe there is a way to check this but it felt to me that nobody on the team created as many chances as Fasching.
Figured he’d get signed based on his age and how well he played, and I’m glad he did. But this comes off as being like the priority of the offseason. I mean Maclean and his sad excuse of a PP should not be here anymore after it basically cost us the series.

Oh hell yeah, he deserves more imo just on effort alone. He’s gonna be a perfect bottom 6 player for hopefully even more than 2 years. Could even find himself up in the lineup with some improvements on scoring. Loved every minute he was on the ice
