Yeah I don’t care if it’s legal or not. I see a Rangers player fucking destroy another player and I’m calling my doctor in 4 hours. Fuck em

Remember they hated Reaves when he was a Ranger. They he lays a huge hit after he gets traded to the Wild and everyone loves him again.

I’ve been saying this for a while. If he played 10-15 years ago he’d be on big hits compilations for all time

r/hockey is a cesspool of bad takes.
One of which is « Jacob trouba is a dirty player »
NYJetsfan2881
I’ve seen a lot of discourse around removing this type of hit but I’m just not sure how that’s feasible. Meier had his head down, is Trouba supposed to just let him skate freely through the zone because his head is down?

These days literally every hit is a suspension according to the deluded masses of r/hockey.
« Give him a 1-game suspension because that was kinda borderline » for fucking everything. As if players would want that.

Honestly fuck everyone else man. Last year showed me we are on our own. All 31 teams hate us. Some rightfully so. Some it’s like ???
Fuck em all.
Also fuck me for choosing this team.

It’s Ice Hockey not the Ice Capades. Trouba is playing a contact sport. Not sure what all these fans of other teams think they should be watching.

Why do I feel like the people who cry over Trouba hits are the same clowns who complain about hockey being too soft?
PurplePenguin501
The people on r/hockey are brainless. What do they want Trouba to do? Let Meier enter our zone with his head down skating with the puck to give him a free breakaway? Trouba didn’t leave his feet and kept elbow tucked so there’s really not much else he could’ve done besides not hit Meier.

The hit was fine. You can’t coast across the middle of the ice at the blue line with your head down bent over. He didn’t target his head. Don’t want to get creamed stand up and/or get rid of the puck. Players have to be at least a little responsible for protecting themselves.
SteveyPugs2020
I didn’t have an actual problem with the hit, just made no sense at that point. They needed to wake up way before that, he’s was doing out of spite and pissed offness at the point. He’s a huge guy and he lays people out. Just needs a better time and place in my opinion. I don’t think the devils saw it as dirty.

The open ice hit on Igor when we’re down 3-0 was totally good and not at all uncouth
Former NHLer Tyler Kennedys take on the hit. Fans seem way more concerned about hits like this then the players do

Trouba’s hit last night was perfectly legal, and one of the hardest hits I’ve seen in a long time. Anyone who dispute’s its legality doesn’t understand the current rules.
It is also fair to ask if we need to re-calibrate the amount of allowable violence in the game. Some people say fuck that, they get paid millions of dollars, and potentially life altering injuries are part of the risk they signed up for. Some people think the league should try to change the rules to reduce the chances of this happening because they don’t want to see great players get taken out. There’s no right answer, and I like big hits, but I think it’s fine for there to be discussion around this.

This is like the least of our worries.
Trouba’s hits are (usually) legal but (sometimes) dangerous. I’m not crazy about them.

Most of Troubs hits are clean but I won’t defend last nights hit beyond it being the only moment I felt something.
